People might be laughing now, but there's going to be some pretty bad damage in the SW.

Arwen had gusts of up to 90mph where we are and it wreaked havoc on the powerlines and there will be a lot of damage to roofs, garages, conservatories etc.

Yep, the SW looks like it's going to be screwed.

The wind has been progressively getting stronger over the last couple of hours, it seems every ~30 minutes it ramps up another couple of notches

Seems like it's a few hours 'behind schedule' - still barely more than a stiff breeze with a few strong gusts around Southampton at the moment despite the 90mph+ figures the BBC had me boarding the windows up for at 9am :p

Nah its definitely not as bad as predicted.
Got windy for Sure. But no damage. Had much much worse Storms before in last couple of years.

Dudley was definitely worse. And South Wales didn't even have a warning for that.

Seems a bit of an anti-climax thus far down here is Cornwall, windy for sure but the hysteria over the last couple of days lol

It's very strong here in south Wales now, i took a walk over to the beach around 45 minutes ago and could hardly stand up, it was also very hard to breathe as the wind was coming straight onto the beach,
i think if i went back over there now it'd knock me down or suffocate me :o

Which part are you in?

Edit. Seen your edit! :D

It was windier the other day here in Bristol.

Considering they closed our office/school for this seems like a bit of a silly decision.

Blowing a howling gale here near Torrington in North Devon.

Got to be 80-90mph gusts currently. Thankfully our neighbour took his sheep and lambs in at about 8am this morning before it really got going.

Now onto our 4th power cut of the day so far.
