Replaced my greenhouse glass with polycarbonate in January after the last storm broke a load of panes. I’ve got one piece of polycarbonate left, no idea where the rest is. £200 has seemingly flown away.

Nah its definitely not as bad as predicted.
Got windy for Sure. But no damage. Had much much worse Storms before in last couple of years.

Dudley was definitely worse. And South Wales didn't even have a warning for that.

I live in Canton (west Cardiff) and it is so far definitely far windier than Dudley and it has only just started. Let's see how it plays out.

It's all kicked off here since ~1000...

The ~25m+ coniferous tree literally over the road has lost two 5m+ chunky branches, just missing a car parked in the road by inches, while I was in the kitchen making a glass of squash!

If anything it feels like it's already peaked here.
Wind is coming from a different direction which probably makes a big difference in the exact location. (blocked by different obstacles etc) .

Haven't had to go out to garden this time. For dudley I did. Chicken issues!

East Cardiff.

over the next hour the wind is changing from SW to W and when that happens Cardiff's wind speed will increase a lot

edit: that switch to Westerly must be happening for me now as my roof tiles are starting to chatter

Looks like this is going to be an anticlimax for 95% of the south. Met Office now saying that London and surrounding areas aren't going to see more than 37mph winds today.

BBC says in London it's 69mph at the moment, it's not even half of that.

The models are still saying widely 80+

The poor pond is going like a wave machine. Seems the wind direction hasn't caused me to play "where's my bins?".

Just two more hours of this before it's meant to drop off a little.

It's very gusty here - although the sun and warmth lull you in to a false sense of safety.

Still showing 63mph gusts on met office for London around midday

Really strange. Still less wind than dudley. Its likely just my local environment I suppose

Yup, according to the Windy website, it's going to be 37mph around midday.

I really think nothing more is going to happen in London. I'd put money on this being a damp squib.
