Winter 2022/23 - It's too cold :(

I like snow, but it makes cycling impossible, followed by hidden black ice, so not so much a fan anymore!

True very true. And it causes havoc because people in this country don't know how to deal with it!

However, if I stick my head in the snow and ignore that, I REALLY want snow. Actually it's mainly for the kids. And I'm also a large child.

I'm just like that, plus I HAVE to see the snow every Winter, easier for me in mid Wales plenty of mountains to go to find it.

Multifuel stove is on and going to be on a lot over the next 10-14 days, just love the sort of heat they put out.:)

Spare a thought for me and my colleagues. IT’s perishing at work. Heating has broken on the shop floor. Then the automatic doors don’t close at all. I’m wearing five layers of clothes on top, leggings under trousers plus fingerless gloves. I’m still freezing.

I come home from work every day with my chest hurting and crying. Warmth helps a great deal with my pain and breathing.

Work are more concerned about Christmas than our wellbeing. I will be given a 3rd different inhaler for asthma later this week. So it’s the blue, pink and mint green.

I can’t tolerate this much further. Why should I go to work to make myself unwell? The physical pain is affecting my mental health too.

If any colleague phones in sick with respiratory issues, they should not be disciplined or get a strike off (3 sicknesses goes to disciplinary) as it’s not their fault!

Employers should show a duty of care towards the health and safety of colleagues. Mine isn’t.

Seriously looking for a new job as at least with a job the building will be better heated and can wear what I want.

It's also a fact that councils are too lazy to grit unless absolutely necessary.

I remember cycling to work in the morning in Bristol and came off my bike on a small roundabout. By the time I managed to pick myself up and get my bike on to the pavement, another cyclist had come round the corner and had done the exact same thing.

I remember getting to work, where quite a number of people cycle, and so many people were complaining about coming off their bikes because of how icy it was and nothing had been gritted.

Can you imagine if we were geared up for snow, we wouldn’t have snow for ten years.

Then Daily Mail will have a photo of shiny never used snow ploughes etc in a council depot. With headline ‘what a waste of money’

Can’t win
