@moon man
That walk round to Rock from Daymer bay is a pain on the sand, it's hard work. The wife and I call it "Sinky Sand". We prefer to walk round the coastal path at high tide these days.
I do like to collect sea glass and driftwood, seawater kills trainers though if you don't wash them.
Up in Yorkshire at the moment awaiting the cold snap, my niece has picked up a.nice 3 story detached for 200k out in the sticks near sculpture park. (2nd story weather view just having a re wire)

Real winter weather arriving for a change, hate the usual Gray/rain we usually get.
Only a few miles from the coast.

It sounds like you actually enjoy winter weather?
I'd rather put up with dull, grey, wet, and cold, than sub zero temperatures, ice, and snow.
Winter sucks. I hate it !

Blue sunny sky hard frosts, what's not to like about it over Gray, drab, damp weather.

Yes, I really like this sort of weather, may it continue, not so good for the heating bills though.
I live out in the country, stunning out there with the above weather.

Real winter weather is 20cm snow drifts, road closures, travel chaos, freezing temps, and general madness for day to day life.
That might be nice and nothing to worry about for someone who's living an affluent/executive "view from a window" lifestlye in their luxury Cotswolds home but it's hell on earth for the average joe bloggs trying to earn a monthly wage.

Best winter weather is those crisp sunny and still days.

Those odd days are nice (aside from the temperature), Yes, but that's not proper Winter weather.

Winter to me is just daily scraping ice off car windscreens in pitch black freezing mornings, not even wanting to get out of bed, struggling to get to work without thinking about suicide, and generally just being depressed about life.

Arpege showing a band of snow passing over northern England and parts of the Midlands late Thursday into Friday - supported by the UKM but less so by other models. Doesn't look like it will come to much but could be passingly heavy on high ground.

At least it's not raining at the moment. Whilst I prefer 25c+, a bright cold crisp day is not too bad. Just need a few layers on and/or the fire on.

negative temps - will be interesting to see impact on energy resources if the wind is remaining low, they are still holding energy saving trials so I guess they think supplies/gas-reserves are fine.

will be ironic if the rail strike gets overtaken by bad weather, as long as the train drivers are still camped on the picket lines.

If the forecasts are correct I might actually switch my halogen heater on for the first time this year at some point in the next week, just to take the edge off :)
