Well they perform a hell of a lot better than my last yokohamas, that's as far as my tyre knowledge goes, they do look like they should do well having the treads go across like that

Undoubtedly, they seem like great all seasons, but that article just reads like absolute nonesense. It is a shame because I'm a big fan of Harry Metcalfe...

Got stuck trying to drive home from East Grinstead to Eastbourne on the A22 over Ashdown Forest earlier. Never seen it drop so quick. Had to turn back and it took 1.5hrs to get back. Some absolute burgers in fancy cars and SUVs all getting stuck, or veering all over the place. My little skoda fabia on bike wheels made it through all of it.

Was so glad to get back somewhere as had 2 kids in the car.

I just got rid of my CrossClimates earlier in the year so guaranteed snow. Luckily I can pick and choose when to drive for the most part.

Honestly I think they should mandate winter tyres as they do in many European countries. People don't realise how much of a difference winter tyres make. Yes it's a faff having 2 sets of wheels but honestly it's night and day.

We've got a good couple of inches already. Kids have been out in it for an hour! More is coming down... I wonder if the school will be open!

Some of the budget tyres really aren't great while many better brands even the summer tyres are OK up to a point. Seen 4x4s struggling around my way in very lightly icey conditions over the last couple of days - then you see they are on bottom of the barrel tyres.

I used to drive a rwd car in the south of France in the winter in the mountains with winter tyres. When it snowed I was still able to drive no issues.

4x4 with summer tyres will never be as good as even a rwd with winter tyres. But it's ok because... 4wd right? :D

10 minutes walk from us :( we were at another local lake about 1/4 mile away this afternoon, ice is about 2cm thick, so not enough to hold someone's weight, but plenty to stop you breaking it if you get stuck under there :(

Got some decent snow here now. Settling nicely. Already seen someone having to help out pushing a car onto a drive. Must have crap tyres.

None here just north of London. Missing it all :(

Gatwick mostly shut at the moment. They ended up having far more than forecast south of London.
