Winter 2022/23 - It's too cold :(

The cold dry patch in November/December was nice. You could go out and enjoy the outside as long as you wrapped up. Better that than a wet, warm and windy winter where the beauty of the season is lost and enjoyment difficult. Added to which all the pests thrive.

No such thing as 'satisfying cold'

I sort of agree but also disagree - I love warm weather 20+C for me is when I start to come to life, but but but but.... ice cold VERY sunny days with no wind or rain ARE quite nice as you can wrap up and put the fire on and it feels kinda magical - however, it makes doing things like the gym, cycling, swimming far more of an effort and mentally challenging to build yourself up to wanting to do it.

This has been the worst few weeks of weather this grim winter period.

I'll take the cold snap over this wet and windy weather.

Haven't been out on bike/kayak since December

Well it's windy here but calmed a lot from last night, actually dry at the moment, as usual the Atlantic is a blown out mess maybe Harlyn or Towan would work but will stick to a walk

I prefer the 0c stuff. Its nearly always dry and sunny in that weather.

Way UK weather is going I really need to move. Winters are so mild and damp now.
Is a dilemma as you also love heat waves.

Second home in inverness for the winter, and south east in summer? Best of both worlds.

I love the countryside of the west but I also love the dry/heat.

Its hard to get the greenery and hills, ocean etc without some rain. But it does take its toll on me November to February.

In a perfect world. I'd summer. Somewhere like north Wales and winter somewhere like Italy.

Or if it ever happens just live in NZ.

It rains a lot in NZ I think...
Anyway, let's see where this goes!

Interesting how the current feature is a clash between 2 systems moving west to east across the midlands potentially producing either a lot of snow or a lot of rain - which wasn't there a few hours ago on the models. The whole setup is quite hit and miss though with us on the edge of an outflow of cold so I don't think anything is nailed down right now.

They can't seem to nail down the weather around the 17th at all - one minute the forecast is sleet, rain, nothing, light snow, briefly heavy snow, etc. etc. with the min temperatures bouncing between cold and very cold.
