Winter 2022/23 - It's too cold :(

One of my pet hates is location bragging but anyway quite pleasant today, going to save my surf for later as hate walking with damp body and wet hair.
There was a windscreen frost but nothing too severe

Yeah but this cold spell was meant to end last Wednesday, keeps extended lol, hoping it gets a bit milder though, I don't mind it reasonably cold but not a fan of all the extra heating needed with these really cold nights.
 
Yup added another couple of nights of sub-zero temperatures here and barely gets up to 3-5C during the day when was forecast 10-11C before.
 
Looks like going into Feb we are going to get brushed by another cold setup which could go either way - though at the moment looks like most of the cold will be east of us.

What you riding? Road or MTB? Usually commute to work on bike, but this weather has made it almost impossible - some of the roads I have to ride are like permanent death traps at the moment.

Where did you hear this, I know its not accurate and you are probably right with what you heard but BBC say 7c 8c 9c till 4th Feb which is as far as they tell you. But I'm only looking at East Yorks
 
One thing that annoys me about cold weather, I always take a glass of water to bed, got sensitive teeth and drinking the water is so cold it kills my teeth, I keep having to warm my water up lol with a halogen heater.

Surprise you dont get ill. I never drink water what been standing for 15 mins never mind threw night and warming it up.

The BBC stuff, as with the majority of forecasts is often worthless that far ahead, however models etc. can sometimes show potentials in the future.

One possibility is the SSW event which might be starting to show itself, but nothing certain yet. Can read a bit about it at

Examining whether a sudden stratospheric warming (SSW) is likely to happen and what effect it may have on the UK's weather if it does.

SSW can be a none event through to beast from the east scenario or anywhere in between, so right now, any forecast out to feb can be ignored :)

Where are you getting your water from that it cant be drunk after 15 mins?...

@skipper847 is only 10 years old. He has to walk 8 miles in the blistering heat to get water out a dirty hole in the ground for his family.... £5 a month can help prevent this. Please give generously so @skipper847 can drink clean water.

I dont drink water what been standing long with having a kidney transplant. I wouldnt even if healthy especially if left standing for long time. Also i didnt say i drink mucky water just not standing water what been left which can get bacteria in it if left standing.

Its going off topic now so best get back on hehe.

Well I didn't even know what I was doing could be dangerous, its decent quality water here I've always thought, well to my palette it taste ok, never had a issue to be honest. I've done it for years, I'll try and remember though to not leave it standing so long and refresh it more often cheers.

There's nothing wrong with the water.
