Winter 2022/23 - It's too cold :(

Anyone seen the charts for this upcoming weekend into next week? Could we be looking at a noticable cold attack from the north/north east?

Crazy how we've gone from ~18C two Sundays ago to a "feels like" ~4C high this week in Southampton... And next week (first full week of March) could be colder!

Forecast is all over the place next week, but it seems the coldest days have been pushed back slightly from the weekend. Could be our last blast of winter. Feb was our lowest heating bill of the winter, so we’ll see what March brings.

Jet is pushed away but not much or for long, but might be enough to let 2-3 days of winter in and conditions after that look like they'd hold off a return to milder weather for a few days.

It's sunnier out there today and supposedly approx 9C... The warmest it's going to be for over a week.

Get the elderly at work who panic when snow is in the forecast and clear the tins of soup section. What's this all about?

Don't people have store cupboards any more?

Besides hm soup is nicer, Did a cauliflower, parsnip and carrot soup today. Cost of making it and ingredients is about 40p - including the leccy of using the soup maker cost of about 8p. Added water, a teaspoon of ginger and a clove of garlic. Used frozen cauliflower as at work some packs had no date printed on the pack. Date is on the outer case but not allowed to sell to customers. Used a quarter of bag.

Plus can use veg that is on the turn - yellowing broc, bendy carrots etc and turns out fine.

I'd like a breakdown of those ingredients you got for 72p (80p less 8p electric to make it)

You're starting to sound like 30p Lee with that comment.

God I get so bored with all this home made soup preaching crap. The fact is, prepared soup is long lasting, cheap, tasty and less hassle. It’s also far easier for the elderly to make.

The last point especially and home made soup is far more hassle - but a decent home made soup can taste far better than prepared soup - the stuff my mum makes is far more satisfying than anything I've ever had from a supermarket shelf.
