Winter 2024/25 - Cold or Mild? Rain or Snow?

Weather app can’t make it's mind up.

This morning it was 7” of snow at 6pm, then it dropped to 2”, now showing 5” but back up to 12’c and sunny tomorrow.

-10C here this morning, about 6C lower than forecast, supposed to be -5 tomorrow morning before turning to snow later on Sunday night. First commute back into town will be fun on Monday, will be away early to avoid the crowds.

Forecast keeps changing between heavy rain/sleet/snow for Saturday evening, not ideal for a trip down to Brighton, trains are bad enough as it is.

That depends where you're coming from it won't be snowing in brighton I guarantee it

Can’t imagine it doing anything other than snowing tonight, although anything that settles will be gone by the morning looking at the 12C forecast here tomorrow.

Last night was bitter here, down to -6.9 degrees C and the 7-8" of snow we already had froze which made things "interesting" this morning. Lovely sunny morning with clear blue sky although very crisp and cold. Back down to zero now with another cold night on the way. From Wednesday onwards it's supposed to get even colder and a shed load of snow coming from Monday as well.

That map says rain where I am, so that’s white crystalline rain then, at the moment anyhow.

I had to abandoned my car around 100m from the house as I couldn't get it up the hill due to an inch or so of very slippery snow.

I saw some properly moronic driving tonight. Full marks to the cretin tailgating me when I was going down a big hill in second gear.
