Yeah but I haven't posted spoilers of an unaired episode, I've posted spoilers from a book. That's not against the rules and I even stuck a spoiler tag in for those of you that can't read!

Besides it's not even a spoiler really, I mean surely the walking dead things are magical

I guess it's a spoiler of sorts, but anyone watching the series should be able to work out for themselves that if there have been dragons and walking dead, there's a fair to good chance of magic appearing at some point. Some people however aren't capable of working this out, and it appears that some of them read this thread :p.

On another note, I've finished the book and can't decide whether to read the others. It is a good story but it just feels so dragged out, and I can't believe how stupid some of the characters are made to be given the history that we're told about. I'm not sure I could cope with 6 more books of this.

It's more the principal. As a Caporegime, you should know better. It is blatantly obvious you were posting merely to irritate and upset people who want zero spoilers whatsoever in this thread. Don't get me wrong, last week I was desparate to find out what happened, so looked up a review of the episode, but would no way post spoilers on purpose just to **** people off like you did.

How is it that I can post saying I'll sort something out once you can't spoil anything for me, and plenty of conversation takes place about people not posting spoilers, and then on the same day someone can post such a big spoiler in such a stupid way?

Make it the colour of the forum, or do something else, but don't do what you did.

Spoiler: <spoiler details> doesn't cover off a suitable warning.

Gilly, how about the admins put in a spoiler code in for the forum?

It would sort so so many of these issues out

I have a question for those who haven't read the books and are only watching the show.

Do you have a realistic idea of the passage of time between scenes and events. I thought I did until I read the books.

For example Tyrion's journey from The Eyrie back to his fathers camp, in the series you could imagine this was just a day or two, I get the impression from the book it was easily a few weeks.

That's just one such example, there are others as well. It's my only grumble with the show, you never really realise how much time has passed between events and scenes, the journey from Winterfell to Kingslanding is a month or so IIRC from the book.

The scale of the show certainly doesn't match that of the book, everything just feels a lot smaller. For example, the north Kingdom is nearly equal in size to all the other six put together. In the show when they go from Winterfell to Kings's Landing it just feels like they popped over to a neighbouring village.

There's a google map version of Westeros here for those interested.

I agree with this, the 'same colour as the forum' is a good idea to start with, but since browsers render colours differently and some members use different themes it's not really practical.

Also, while we're at it - tags too please ;)
