Seemed to me that the Wights just raised from the recently deceased were far more sluggish than those who'd been dead and under the NK's command for some time
That was how I was rationalising it, and I suppose even the hyperactive crypt undead were only fighting women and children not fit to fight above.

I've just been watching this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7m6HP95EDM guy's take on a reworked script and although I went in thinking the whole 'Bran is the Night King' fan fiction was foolish, by the time he's finished, I think I may be a convert to this cause! Makes sense (in as much as any of the 3ER does) in a way which just feels right. I may even be able to retrofit it into my memory of this episode and use it as a springboard to try and build up some excitement for E4-6.

Edit for thought while walking the dog: Has the NK ever touched anyone without there being dire consequences for them? I guess if he's dead, that may not matter, but I can't help wondering. Beats trying to work out who H is.

Lots of leaks online for episode 4. Apparently someone got a hold of the episode and is trying to make money off it. They have released a few clips and stills to prove it's legit, so be warned, there are lots of spoilers out there right now. Even worse, it sounds like another **** episode :p :o

I'd consider that a definite improvement in a 'mind blown' fashion, which would have made for a densely meaningful episode on top of the action.

I do wonder if in many years time it'll be possible for amateur content creators to use computer-driven voice-impersonation and some sort of extrapolation of 2D footage of actors into a super AI'd up 3D version that is completely manipulable in software, and therefore recreate disappointing content like S8E3 in an entirely different way with new action/storyline/dialogue. I suppose we've had the beginnings of that in Hollywood with the younger Schwarzenegger rendered through CGI in the later Terminator movies.

One nitpicking thing I'll make of those who say the Dothraki lights-out scene could've been done with them flanking and viewed only from the air/a few people scouting - it would've taken away from the moment everyone on the ground level in defence of Winterfell could see it together. They could've shot some of that scene from Daenarys/Jon's POV when they were up on that mountain, but I doubt it'd have been as impressive as what they went with in the episode (and being able to cut to a bunch of the main characters faces as they saw the lights going out). I therefore stand by my idea of POWs going in and being able to get exactly the same shots of the lights going out scene.

Of course all wishful thinking now as we leave the reality of 'what they really did in that episode' and imagine something better.

I'm just glad I don't care enough about the show to actively look out sneak peak information and delve into crazy theories :p

That’s almost a spoiler in itself. Why can’t people just keep their mouth shut?

Now I’m gonna watch it thinking it’s gonna be rubbish ffs. Mods, sort it out please. @EVH

Looks like a potentially good video on GOT post-S8E3, except it said it had spoilers on Avengers Endgame at 4 mins, so I halted it as I haven't seen that, even though I'm unlikely to be impressed by anything Avengers-like as I don't give a toss about comic book Thor, Ironman, Hulk, Spiderman, or whatever nonsense is in cinemas until it's paraded out on Sky as a meaningless eye candy flick (am I even in the right DC-verse? or whatever the hell it's called?).

I'm not sure I'd call an episode being rumoured to 'also be ****' as a spoiler. Most of us are expecting disappointment by now.

To be fair most of the **** episodes (well that people seem to think are) are the ones all about the drama/scheming/politics...which to be honest are actually many of the best/better episodes :) I'm really excited for the way the last 3 episodes are going unfold now the White Walkers are no longer a threat (presumably).

I wouldn’t class that as a spoiler. Everyone’s taste is subjective and it’s given no details away.

Can't argue with that, though I have the horrible feeling the victory over the white walkers will serve as little more than a cathartic plot device to get the north behind Daenerys. Controversial seeing the trailers describing the fight against the NK as the 'the great war' (the same phrase used to describe WW1), but judging by where the show is going everyone seems up for a less impressive Cersei-as-the-adversary WW2 10 seconds later.

Edit: removed just in case it was a Line of Duty spoiler (I didn't think it would spoil anything, but in retrospect that's not for me to judge).

First time I'm staying up for it. Hoping Now TV lets me watch live :D

It does but it can be a bit awkward to find. You have to scroll right to the bottom to see live channels then scroll across to Atlantic

EDIT: that is for the console app btw the desktop one just scroll across to entertainment and there will be a watch live section

Starts at 2am, not available on catch up service until episode has aired. Might be available on live portion if you're watching it on TV?
