Zaha had his chance at a big club when he went to United and failed to impress. At Palace he plays every game and is the focal point of the Palace attack. If any team is looking at a Palace player they should be looking at Olisé or Eze, not Zaha.

You could argue the same about De Bruyne or Salah at Chelsea.

That said, I agree that I'd take Olise or Eze over Zaha.

United crying out for a striker. Glaziers unlikely to spend again (for the foreseeable?).

I think we should take a punt on Mitrovic myself. Unload Ronaldo it would be like a straight swap financially.

Outside of Haaland, Kane and Lewondowski he must be up there as one of the best number 9's in Europe at the moment.

At 30 years old, would Zaha be happy as a backup?

Hes never going to be happy going from being the main man to a bit part player. Hes also very frustrating and I'm not convinced he suits a top team. Too wasteful which is fine when you are low on quality and he can be a bit **** for 90% of the game and still add more than he takes away but at a top team he will either be a net detriment or be a passenger.

Same reason Ronaldo has been such an issue at United. The better the team, the bigger your "highs" have to be if your overall contribution to the team is poor.

Brighton have bought another young South American prospect to arrive in January, Facundo Buonanotte.

Getting the deals done early.

Players can have purple patches. Putting him in the same bracket after 10 games is silly.

I understand that but you also cannot ignore his stats last season in the Championship. 43 goals in 46 apps and the Championship is easily of equal to some of the European Leagues. Also in his first season in the Prem with Fulham he was a 1 in 3 striker with a relegated team. The only blip is the 20/21 season but Fulham were absolutely dire that season so cannot really blame it on him.

Ivan Toney is flying this season aswell. Are we putting him in the same bracket?

Ultimately the Championship isnt a top tier league so whilst i get your point it isnt imo enough to be putting him in with the best in the world.

Mitrovic would be a big gamble for United.

Oh yes it would no doubt but there isn't really much going around with No9's these days.

Benzema
Martinez
Nkunku
Mbappe
Giroud

Benzema is at the end of his career.
Mbappe isn't a number 9 nor could we really afford him.
Martinez would cost an arm and leg.
Nkunku. How many German players have flopped since coming to the English league?
Giroud is a pensioner playing in a retirement league that makes Chris Smalling look like Maldini.

Sad thing is Greenwood is more than likely better than all of them. Shame his career is finished now.
