He still states he can play at the top and plenty of clubs were in for him last summer but he chose Manchester. He also said it is not about the money but playing at a level.
The irony of him going to Saudi for a pay deal would be hilarious because if plenty of clubs were in for him he would never go.

I saw a tweet from him the other day and he has a lot of followers for such a wally. I didn't realise so many people followed him. 8.2m.
Morgan's a genius. He's an absolute **** but a genius. He's made himself a fortune and such a high profile journalist by consistently doing two things very loudly - being controversial and blowing smoke up the backside of the right people. He associates himself with whoever is the most high profile person in the spotlight at any one time. The way he went on you'd think that he and Trump (some years back) were best mates when in reality Trump wouldn't have ****ed on him if he was on fire, now it's Ronaldo and next it'll be Musk.

It's funny isn't it. The press know these things, and it's safe to say he had no offers in the summer, aside from the Saudi one. Jorge Mendes was pimping him out everywhere - nobody wanted him.
The Ronaldo (and anti-United) fans will have egg on their faces if he effectively retires to Saudi Arabia while they're claiming he's still an elite player - and only left because Ten Hag is a bad manager.
Anyone who has watched him recently knows he's in severe decline.
I won't lie, I was delighted when he rejoined and he did get off to a good start, but it was all downhill from there. @fez absolutely called it right.
