I know our interest in Maddison never went away and he had Wilson and Pope in his ear at the world cup and the small social media accident.

How long left on his contract? Is it a year and a half now? Think we offered 45m in the summer but you were after 65m.
Maddison yeah 18 months, Tielemans 6 months.

Hmm Maddison would still be expensive and Leicester extremely tough in negotiating hah

Maddison would be my preference to break down teams the way Leeds set up at the weekend. Something we going to have to get used to.

Whos knows.

Depends what Newcastle wsnt to do.

Stick to the long term plan or go for it since we are in an awsome position.

How the tables have turned since we battered you a couple of years back.

We havent recovered from Ricardo becoming a injury liability, amazing player but now sadly made of cotton wool, on top of that the manager is now stale and half our squad has lost interest.

@BaZ87 This is something you’ll undoubtedly know.

Can a selling club give a potential suitor permission to talk to a player and agree personal terms before a fee has been agreed between clubs?

I always thought a fee had to be agreed before personal terms could be done.

You flatter me Rob :o Yes, there's nothing stopping a selling club from allowing a potential buyer to speak with their player. The reality is that the buying club will rarely wait for that permission and they'd have agreed everything with the player before even beginning talks with the selling club.

Yep tapping up is rife now.

Ok, so hopefully theres some truth in the strong rumours that we have agreed a 5 year contract with Mudryk.

Clubs wouldn't go to the trouble of talking to a club about the fee etc until they have had an indication from the players agent that they would be up for a move.

There’s been quite a few transfers though that have broken down over personal terms after a fee Has been agreed. Some players have downright refused the move full stop.

We had Vestergard refused to leave, but I think that offer was made by Fulham because we transfer listed him. Is it the case the ones blocked by the player are usually when transfer listed by the club against their wishes?

Tapping up is against the rules of the game but its so common now. :(

Theres a difference between being willing to move and being happy with the eventual terms of the move. I would be willing to move company if someone asked but if I got to the stage of negotiating and then didn't offer me enough or couldn't convince me on some factor then I might reject it.

Nah, think our interest has cooled a lot.

I’m not even sure I want him anymore tbh. Don’t think he’s quite the player he’s hyped up to be.
rumour i heard was that arsenal bidding at end of jan window to force leics into accepting a low bid rather than lose him for free in summer

I don't rate Tielemanns that hgihly. He's way too inconsistent and doesn't track back anywhere near as much as Arsenal will expect him to. I just can't see him fitting their style at all.
