The movement could definitely be improved but at the same time it's not something that really hinders my enjoyment anymore.

I got used to just walking when in enclosed spaces or when moving to pick up an item, and now I don't really have any issues.

I generally like the movement in combat, I rarely use the lock on and find it fluid when moving between multiple enemies and adjusting the camera.

New patch is adding some handy things, especially around the books for me personally. Enjoying the game a lot more now I'm doing more story quests and not just adding a waypoint to a ? and hoping whatever is there can't kill me in one hit.
A new, alternative (optional) movement response mode for Geralt.
A player stash for storing items, available in various locations throughout the game. Stash locations are marked on the player's map.
Crafting and alchemy components no longer add to the overall inventory weight.
Books are now placed in a dedicated tab in the inventory and books that have already been read are properly greyed out.
Multiple sorting options are now available in the inventory.
Alchemy formulas and crafting diagrams can be "pinned", meaning all components and ingredients required to make them will be conveniently marked in the Shop panel.
Dozens of fixes for quest related issues, both major and minor.
A few performance enhancements, including the optimisation of FX, scenes and general gameplay.
Various improvements to horse behaviour.

Fantastic, going to make things much more easier on the difficult settings though!

I loaded up my game yesterday and I was greeted with some very strange sounds!

http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/ScarySquirrelUK/video/4333280#t=12

I'm still loving this. I'm about 80 hours in at the moment with a fair bit of the main quest to do I think. I've gone for a mainly combat/sword build, seem to be able to destroy things pretty quickly.

The new patch will be welcome. Not sure I'll bother with the new movement mode though as after 80 hours I'm used to how it is now. I agree that movement isn't perfect but for it to ruin your experience as much as it sounds like it is just seems odd to me. There's so much this game offers and it's one of the only games that I've enjoyed watching all of the conversations and cut scenes, and getting engrossed in the story of the world. I love it!

This makes me happy.

I've no idea what to buy for anything without a lot of going back and forth between menus. Usually I just hope I've picked it up somewhere rather than buy it specifically.

A new, alternative (optional) movement response mode for Geralt.

what does that even mean?

Added more swagger to him ;)

Hopefully made it less frustrating and more precise, typical that all these things are added just after I've completed the game, All i have to do is finish Skellige ? locations and some side quests as everything else is done.

Playing on the PS4 here, and can honestly say the only time I get ****ed off by the controls, are when trying to interact with something - it seems that some items (i.e. fixed fire pits etc) will only allow to 'ignite' them from a certain spot; and it can sometimes mean a bit of a juggle to get matey boy in position.

At all other times, it plays find to me

This 1000x over. Finally succumbed to buying this after seeing all the good reviews / comments on various forums. Now wondering what on earth people are on about, as it's so ridiculously clumsy and cluttered, it's stripping most of the enjoyment out of what should be a great game.

Can only imagine the reviewers were bribed as no review that i've seen mentioned the awful controls and jerky animation.

Although I agree about the controls, this is still a beauty of a game.
Some of the best games I've ever played have awkward animations/dodgy controls ie. Arma series, Skyrim and the Witcher 3 is not as bad as them.
I think it's fully worthy of the review scores.
It's about learning to love the imperfections :)

Controls are pretty crappy but not so much as to take that much away from the game. I found that once I had the sword skill that allows you to twirl and keep hitting opponents I rarely got annoyed by it.

After playing bloodborne which has a fantastic combat system it was a little bit of a letdown but we can't have everything eh.

Finally got the Gwent Master achievement yesterday. It's easily missed when you do the High Stakes quest, I wouldn't normally reload if I fail something but I just had to beat this one. It was a right ball ache but I got there in the end when I got a good hand.

I thought I'd be bored by now, but I'm really not. 80-90 odd hours in and I'm still loving it. I can see me putting at least 150 hours into this.

Is this dropping today? Just glad of some of the QoL changes - havent found W3 that buggy apart from some silly part quest failures and sometimes NPCs not appearing while on the minimap they should exist.
