Wolfenstein: The New Order

Just finished the game btw. Just over 8 hours playtime according to steam. I enjoyed it from start to finish, with the game getting far better after the first level. It reminds me of goldeneye due to so many things that are very similar to it. Dual wielding pretty much any gun you get is one of them with the biggest similarity being a spoiler!

Lunar base levels with lasers. The weapons and setting reminds me of the moonraker levels in goldeneye massively. The only difference is on goldeneye you get infinite ammo, but on this you have to recharge your laser weaponry at power outlets which are all over the place.

get it from greenman gaming i bought it and had the key in my account instantly...
also gives you the key for doom beta aswell as RTCW keys all work with steam apart from the doom beta key you register that yourself...

I like how the download is £34.99 and the DVD is £27.99. In this day and age of saving the planet you think it would be the other way around but instead you get charged an "instant" premium.

tell me about it.... i remember reading back in the day that digital download games wouldnt cost as much as media versions would but as they say in this day and age MILKING THE COW is the NORM these days. for greedy company's .

Theres two different timelines based on a decision you make early on, which is where reviewers are pulling upto 20 hours playtime out of. I don't know the extent of the differences they give, but thats not short imo.

Ah didn't know that but to be honest I'm not interested in playing anymore. Just my humble opinion and a lot of people seem to like it so its not worth much really :)

8 hours gameplay? is that just blasting through it without worrying about collectibles etc?

No way im paying current price for 8hrs of SP with no MP. Steam sale in july will hopefully see it a bit cheaper

Took me 8 hours with a good 70% of collectables gained, just about to start playthrough 2 with Wyatt and Uber difficulty. Well worth the £23 in my eyes but meh.

Seen a bit of gameplay on Twitch last night of this game,Looks quite good.

No chance in hell im paying £35 for just single player though,I was REALLY hoping they would have revived the multi player i once enjoyed back in the Enemy territory days...Why they would not include one of the most important elements (Multiplayer) that made wolfenstein what it is?

Bought the DVD version. Install took about 30 minutes and then Steam decided to download the entire game to verify files. My connection is only 3mb so this took 11 hours.

Seriously, what's the point of buying a hard copy if you have to download the game anyway ? Thankfully I'm getting Infinty2 installed tomorrow, so I won't have to go through this crap again.

Anyhow, played the first couple of levels this morning, and so far so good. Graphics aren't jaw dropping at all, but the gameplay is typical generic FPS, which I like.

25-30 quid for 1 day play is not short for you?:o

Lucky if a SP is 6-8 hours today, in the good old days 20-30 hours.

As for peeps crying about MP, many great classic games up till mid 2000's were SP only and not everyone likes MP.

Tempted by this but as already said - @40Gb??!! Can't decide whether to wait for Watchdogs and grab that first, leaving Wolfenstein until later. Think I'll wait for a couple of unbiased reviews before deciding.
