Wolfenstein: The New Order

Lucky if a SP is 6-8 hours today, in the good old days 20-30 hours.

As for peeps crying about MP, many great classic games up till mid 2000's were SP only and not everyone likes MP.

I remember those good old days, where you buy a game for the single player :D

I still mainly buy games for single player and would rather they spend all their resources making a good single player game. Then having a MP that only lasts a few months anyway, as people tend to move on to the next big game.

Really REALLY impressed so far. About 5 hours in and aside from some AI bugs I honestly have no complaints at all.
The gunplay feels so awesome! Aided by the incredible sound design which is on a par with Dice's if you ask me. Shame about the lack of volume control but still.

I was a bit sceptical of the whole horrors of war theme mixed in with the dark comedy but the game totally pulls it off in my opinion.

As for people complaining about lack of muliplayer... well, too bad. I paid £24 for my hard copy and by the looks of it am going to get about 8-10 hours out of it and that's perfectly acceptable as far as I'm concerned. It's totally subjective ofcourse but I'd rather have a solid singleplayer mode on it's own then a half assed attempt at both.
It might have just been a development thing, maybe MachineGames just didn't have the man power to devote a team to multiplayer. Maybe they where to proud to lease it out to a seperate developer. I like to think it was just a coherent focus on what they'd planned from the start, a kick ass singleplayer campaign :)

Yeah I love it too, its a great old school fps. Like the good old RTCW, COD1, MOHAA single player days. Played for about 4 hours but im gonna stop now as im in the middle of building a new rig (see sig) and want to try it on that with a nice LG 34" super wide screen monitor:D

Just finished the game btw. Just over 8 hours playtime according to steam. I enjoyed it from start to finish, with the game getting far better after the first level. It reminds me of goldeneye due to so many things that are very similar to it. Dual wielding pretty much any gun you get is one of them with the biggest similarity being a spoiler!

I hope you didn't just blast away oh i must get to the end of each level as as fast as i can without looking for stuff, far to many rush games these days.

just make sure guys that your running flawless widescreen app to fix the games aspect ratio :)
as the game @ ultrawide screen resolutions gets stuck in the 16.9 aspect at all times, flawless widescreen app fixes it :)

Yes. Back to epic single player gaming. Played for a good hour and am loving it muchly. The time it takes to install is a bit much as is the download but that why we have fibre optics for. Hope this isn't a new trend of needing 40 odd gig per game though. Runs very sweet btw.

40gb games is crazy, I wouldn't believe it would happen a couple years ago. But with cheap big HDD it really aint an issue, well unless 40gb start to become common.
It wouldn't surprise me if we start getting 100gb games (not including MMO) in a couple years.

Loving the game so far. Run into some micro stutters which then causes the audio to get out of sync in cutscenes - but it seems to be a common problem that should hopefully be fixed.
I'm loving the silenced pistol, getting lots of headshots and sneaking around.

Agree the silencer on pistol is brilliant. Glad I got this game as it's old skool updated for 2014. Yes it has it's faults but as a fps blaster it rocks.

I don't think size is an issue unless you have slow Broadband or some capacity limited computers. End of that if it looks and plays nice surely Thats the important bit. These days it's nigh on essential you have super fast broadband and decent spec rig with uber amounts of hdd space.
