Wolfenstein: The New Order

Are those GPU's 2GB?

Normally a 2GB GPU will not see the Ultra setting but I have read (not sure if true) for some reason it sees SLI/Crossfire Vram as 2x (adds both together) which it is not but allows Ultra setting, this is even with SLI/Crossfire not working in the game due to engine not AMD/Nvidia.

Ah so I'm not the only one to notice these weird frame rate drops

Yea it's odd, sometimes just in an empty room where there is nothing going on and it drops.

Turning around quickly also causes it to drop, wonder if its not addressing the VRAM correctly as once I turned down a few setting and got usage down to around 2GB it played reasonably well. As soon as you go past around 2.5GB it starts behaving oddly.

4GB 290s

With this crossfire profile, supersampling, triple buffering etc its shot up to 5.2GB @ 1080p which is insane.

3GB here :p

EDIT : Oh you're talking to that other guy, wish you would quote who you are talking to :(

Sounds about right!

@ Neil79, There is no reason to quote a post directly above a reply, that is why the forum has massive threads. :)

Esp when it contains links to reviews or many pictures.

60fps here if I stand still, move one step to the left or right and it's 48fps

GRAPHICS QUALITY : HIGH
VT CACHE SIZE : Ultra
VT COMPRESS : ENABLED
MAX PPF : 32
SHADOW RESOLUTION : 20xx
DEPTH OF FIELD : MEDIUM
SCREEN-SPACE REFLECTIONS : DISABLED
ADDITIONAL QUALITY SETTINGS : HIGH OR ULTRA
HAZE FLARE : DISABLED

What I found was causing nearly all of my frame rate drops was PPF, turned it to 64+ and every time I turned it would drop to 55fps or lower. Turned it to 32 and it's fine, the other settings are now disabled and I haven't noticed a huge difference in quality tbh

Your guide helped me find the sweet spot thanks!

Good to hear, glad it was of some help. :)

Playing on highest settings on my 670 and i5 2500k, not noticing any major frame drops, lowest its went too is like 45 in some situations, stays around 55-60 most the time.
Pretty awesome game so far, i'm committing a sin and playing with a controller but its not bad, only slightly annoying picking stuff up.
Only doing it because I want to play on my big tv which I can't really get my keyboard and mouse too ;d

At 2560x1080 I get no less than 60fps on Ultra with a single non OC GTX 780. At 3440x1440 it's 45~ fps with 60 when indoors. I think this kind of performance is pretty amazing all things considered. The game doesn't look as sharp as others out there in some areas but the particle effects and engine are really pleasing most of the time.

Also gotta love doing this:

Are you using the same settings as me, see post #529, as I don't recall dropping lower than 57 in game play.
