Wolfenstein: The New Order

Absolutely loving this game, the shotgun with the flak upgrade is just so satisfying to use. And the LKZ with what must be most of the upgrades is a proper beast of a gun, I love the multi-targeting scope!

Some of the perks seem a bit hard to get, yet to get the one that has killing 3 enemies with continuous dual rifle fire, but I think my mouse is on the blink a bit.

Currently on the Gibraltar Bridge, absolutely loving all the details in this game. Spent ages reading all of the newspaper cuttings in the resistance base.

I keep missing secrets though, mostly because I think, "Oh, I've not found a way into that bit yet, it'll probably be up ahead.", and before you know it the level is finished or made so you can't go back :o

Could do with a few more perks also, playing on "Death incarnate" is pretty challenging without quick saves... Anyone know how you do the enigma codes ? like lots of these games you keep your head down and exit the level without being able to go back for goodies :( so I assume if you don't pick up all the codes you can not crack them ?

Once you have finished the game, you can go back and replay the chapters. That's how I got all my gold pieces and Enigma codes.:)
Took me a few hours to crack the codes, but got there in the end.

Just finished this game on uber and i have to say it was fantastic. Haven't had this much fun/satisfaction in an fps shooter since CoD4 veteran mode.

Got the game, 4 discs !

but Wow it's slow to upload from disc....it looks like about 2 hours

plus an extra 7 hours from Steam .... the 4 DVDs only have 30GB on them, the other 10 GB has to come from Steam, this last 10GB is taking ages, i've just found out that my Broadband provider is one of the slowest there is, BT TALK TALK is 10 times faster, so i'm getting that.

i hope this game is worth it

Not sure if posted already.
I found a nice little classic touch / easter egg :)

It's like classic wolfenstein but updated very slightly :D

To find it, you simply:
When you first meet the resistance fighters, go to the very top floor/attic space. There is a sleeping bag on the floor, when looking at it you get the option to have a nightmare. Hold the action key to go to sleep, the nightmare is classic wolfenstein :)

Is this on offer anywhere?

Nice! :)

Wow this is freaking awesome! First 10 minutes or so was almost enough to put me off, though.

I found it the worst part of the game, it's like they rushed it and added it on later despite being the start of the game, the quality of the graphics, the models, peoples faces, it was horrible and also almost made me put it down and saying "what is this ****?".

I think it's OK, above average.

The combat is good, if a little punishing at time, which makes going all guns blazing risky (would be ok with a quick save).

It's got a lot of cut-scenes and slow bits, the sneaking around works. It's kinda like a COD without the annoying bits.

No health regen, no infinite spawns until you do as you're told, it's semi-explorable, you can go stealth, you can go yolo-full-retard, and murder your way from pickup to pickup. Boss fights are mostly annoying rather than enjoyable. It's still got painful scripted exposition sequences that slow things down. Some 'puzzle' levels with limited/no gunplay, Cheesy bits, story arc, that kind of thing. It's something every game has to do these days it seems.

Overall, above a COD, below a HL2. Not quite as old school as a Painkiller / Serious Sam / Duke Nukem (as flawed as it was). A mix of old and new.
