Woman Kicked in Stomach in Bus Attack Caught on CCTV (London)

to be fair it might not be a race related incident... in fact I think for all incidents - there ought to be actual evidence of racism not just attacker/victim happen to be of different races - if it were white people doing it to a black woman it shouldn't necessarily be 'racist' either... unless it could be shown they were doing it because she was black rather than the woman the scumbags chose to attack also happened to be of a different race...

I completely agree, I think race is totally irrelevant in this example. But my point was more about how fickle the media can be in their reporting of such crimes.

Some astute observations in this thread, which definitely haven't been made a million times before by people who will turn every topic they can into a whinge about how hard done by white men are.

The actual incident aside, which regardless or race, gender or whose team they bat for is just a bunch of losers ganging up on an individual.

Is that really all the bus company can afford with regards to camera tech?

seriously that camera equipment must cost the best part of 20p! No audio, what seems like 5fps, pixelated images.

Why have they not spent another few quid on the recording equipment so that the footage is actually usable!?

I guess it comes down to storage space. When you think about having to store 24 hours of footage from possibly hundreds of buses for months on end it's not really possible to have 720p 30 fps footage.

It really is given that in 2013 we have MPEG-4 AVC encoding and terabyte hard drives selling for pennies. However there is no requirement to store video for months on end anyway, nor do bus services run 24 hours a day.

480p and 15-20fps would have been way better than what ever that is.

My phones camera costs £20 for the replacement part and can do 1080p recording

Just annoys me how little they seem to care, why even bother to put the camera there unless its for some regs

I figured lately that all horrible crimes that involve senseless violence deserve to have the criminals chained up in the high-street of their local town 8 hours a day with a guard - simply for the public to view them and shame them - it would also allow people to directly question them.............why did they do it ? what was the point ? The constant questioning and putting them down publicly would surely affect them, petty hitting and kicking should be allowed from the public, nothing more than a hard slap that wouldn't cause much damage, just allow the criminal to experience fear chained up - make them small ................ the protection criminals get is ridiculous, this should be removed on being 100% sure the person committed a crime and are convicted.

The rest?? it was one guy who kicked the girl and his boyfriend who pulled her hair/got a girly hit in. Those two need to be arrested. The rest were watching/name calling. They was no 'gang' stomping this girl out.... lol the SWAG (Secretly We Are Gay) gang??! the media...'sigh'

Yes all of them. Not one of the scum bags called the police or tried to help the girl when they had the chance to.

I really don't agree with that story. The cctv video isn't the best, but from what I saw they both gave it some mouth, this escalated into hair pulling and then she went bat-**** crazy on him (which was to be expected tbh), cat fight ensued and she was pushed over (by his foot/leg allegedly) and banged her head - lights out. He's lucky, if she'd got up my money would have been on the girl.

This is not bruce lee flying kicks knocking people unconscious, just a stumble and oops banged head. Whole thing has been blown out of all proportion and courts not being known for that I'd expect a short sentence (possibly even suspended if first offence).

You want people to be arrested and charged with not calling the police and not fighting in her defence? That would apply to everyone on the bus.

Would you apply that as a blanket rule in all crimes or only if the victim is a child or a woman (or, as you put it, a girl, i.e. a child)?
