Bud, I'm 6'2 and been in the gym and martial arts most of my adult life. If a 13yo girl pulls a knife on me, I turn around and leg it. Only on the big screen do normal people take on machete wielding maniacs.

Its not a social/poverty issue nor is it a race issue. it's an ideological one as per Irish dissidents etc... There are people living here who actively want to inflict violence on the British state as a result of their beliefs.

Oh, I must have missed that post, my apologies. I'm likely confusing you with someone else. However, I'm much the same when it comes to racism of any sort, I don't just focus on one area. I'm just fed up of people ignoring everything but the race. It's not right, we are all people regardless of skin colour. What we SHOULD be focusing on is what was the underlying reason for the attack, and whether there is a risk of further attacks.

Out of curiosity how do you think this would have played out...

The exact some thing happens but there happens to be someone else randomly passing by with an illegal firearm (black or white, which ever makes it most interesting), said person intervenes by shooting both suspects and may or may not kill them.

How would that play out, obviously he would get done for illegal possession of a firearm but what else?

tbh they did write racist posts. Put it this way, if it had been two white people chopping up a black man, would we have several people on here clamering for people to go down to the area tonight and take revenge on random white people? No we wouldn't.

Yes, it's sick what has happened and the two people who did it deserve the worst punishment under law. That doesn't mean all people are the same. Would you as a white perosn liked to be judged on the basis of a gruesome or mass murder carried out by a white person?

Did I name names? No, I just stated that I read the entire thread and had noticed a strong trend in the amount of thinly veiled racism and xenophobia. Hand wringing? How about you actually respond to what I'm saying rather than lowering yourself to insults... It's as if you don't have a response to what I'm saying.

And no, I didn't grow up in the hood, however I have seen a few crimes and been on the receiving end of a few muggings. But please, don't let that stop you insulting me. Enjoy your RTM.

But race and religion play a part. Even though we have tried adopting a mix it and we'll all be fine policy, it's foolishness to assume that other people (of all colours will do the same). There are people of every colour and creed who feel that it is not a good idea to bundle everyone into one big pot all in one go.

These things take time, and by ignoring the issues and correlating evidence as to ethnic composition and identity of these people, we risk alienating everyone.
 
why didn't people report on twitter and stuff that the 2 guys were "Allah ackbar'ing" during the attack... how do those details only appear later from government sources....

i smell a conspiracy

Some reports do mention a woman tried to shield the man from the attackers hacking him but that's all.

Me, faced with two blokes with several big knives and a gun, I am pretty sure I would have done nothing.

I feel that I am justified in my approach. Your initial response did not lend itself to the discussion at hand, in fact it had the feel of trying to stigmatise certain points that some people were making.

Whether you agree with them or not is one thing, but carte blanche writing them off isn't the solution either.
 
The people who harp on about rascism on here should be banned from this site. This was a terrorist attack and the people who done it were spouting out some heeby jeeby Muslim god thing whilst filming it.

Not everybody who was a witness to it went on twitter? That guy earlier who tweeted, I am not sure how he would translate "allahu ackbar"
