Woolwich serious incident

Some reports do mention a woman tried to shield the man from the attackers hacking him but that's all.

Me, faced with two blokes with several big knives and a gun, I am pretty sure I would have done nothing.

Yup, I can completely understand people doing nothing but upon reflection it just saddens me a bit. To think if you were in the same position (as the victim) with people all around you...

Still, what's done is done :(

The people who harp on about rascism on here should be banned from this site. This was a terrorist attack and the people who done it were spouting out some heeby jeeby Muslim god thing whilst filming it.

Why? I have a point of view just like you.

Were the attackers black? Yes
Were they muslim? Likely
Was it racist/religious motivated? Probably

Should we allow people to post on a forum that we should get together, tooled up and go kill some "blacks" tonight to get revenge. **** NO

Early reports did say that bystanders got one of the attackers but since then reports say both were shot by the police. That's the problem, as time goes by, reports tend to change.

I feel that I am justified in my approach. Your initial response did not lend itself to the discussion at hand, in fact it had the feel of trying to stigmatise certain points that some people were making.

Whether you agree with them or not is one thing, but carte blanche writing them off isn't the solution either.

Thankyou for responding properly. I do apologise for coming across in that sense, however that was not what I was doing. I am just fed up, as I said, with that attitude. But, as in the past, attempting to engage such points for discussion never really turns out well. Some people have their views, whether I agree with it or not, and that's not going to change. My mum's ex-boyfriend was a huge racist, even though he had black, asian, indian, and multiple other ethnic minorities as friends, and there was nothing to be done to change it.

I just don't like the attitude. And I apologise for my own attitude, it was clearly the incorrect one for the thread.

It's not right, we are all people regardless of skin colour. What we SHOULD be focusing on is what was the underlying reason for the attack

Seriously? What do you think was the motive dude, two guys from the religion of peace and ritual beheading rock up and hack a soldier to death?
I can tell you now it wasn't because he spilled their pint.

In fact I knew this the second I heard on the news it was a soldier involved, nobody had even mentioned Muslims at that point.

Poor guy, what a nasty way to go.
I bet his regiment is going absolutely ballistic right now.

But race and religion play a part. Even though we have tried adopting a mix it and we'll all be fine policy, it's foolishness to assume that other people (of all colours will do the same). There are people of every colour and creed who feel that it is not a good idea to bundle everyone into one big pot all in one go.

These things take time, and by ignoring the issues and correlating evidence as to ethnic composition and identity of these people, we risk alienating everyone.

Explain how race has played a part?

It's down to the ideology - in this instance it's religion.

I don't see a link to race though.

on the pics you see 3 people 1 in the road and two at the crossing, with police over them, which one is the victim? there is a picture of the car wrecked and big blood trail ,i am guessing they moved his body and dumped it in the road?

Out of the loop for the last hour, how has this now become a suspected terror attack?

Soldier killed on home soil
Killers likely to be muslim (shouted "allahu ackbar")
Didn;t attempt to leave the scene before police arrive
Got the public to take photos and videos of them with the body
No self worth, as soon as armed police arrived they charged the cars before they even got out of the car eg wanted to be killed.

That's it in a nutshell.

brown people are more likely to be Muslimicism. i dont no many white muslims do you ?

read between the lines bro. its coming: dont bury your head in the sand bro.

Yeah, it seems they did him on the pavement and then dragged him into the middle of the road.

Probably one of the best measured posts I've seen you made. You gotta understand that not everything in life can boil down to 'source of facts'. People have their own experiences, fears and opinions. Am I racist or xenophobic? Not at all. Am I prejudiced? Yes maybe a little. I love other cultures and people but do I want them next to me, interfering with my life or changing my neighbourhood? Not at all. Or rather, not in massive quantities. I don't want whole areas or cities changing. I want to talk about it in a reasonable way without being confronted by crazed, google-eyed apologists that squeal every time the status quo is challenged or questioned.

I hope we can do that in the future. This boy is over and out for the night.

Horrible thing to happen :(

Also, really wish this forum had a function to allow us to 'tag' users, so future posts from them can have a little identifier that just the tagger can see.

Actually I know a lot. Some good and some bad. Equally I know as many white people who do "nasty" things. People are people.
