Woolwich serious incident

Trials where the primary objectives of the perpetrator is attention shouldn't be reported, they should just report that its started, concluded and what the result was. The media circus surrounding it is just what they want.

To be fair that charge was shaky at best I'm sure I read it was based on the fact one of them walked a bit too close to the cop car with the cleaver held over his head, which while threatening doesn't really come close to attempting to murder someone.

The attempted murder charge was brought up because he pointed the gun at the police, which is when they shot him. Pointing a gun at someone if sufficient to charge them with attempted murder - especially in those circumstances.

The gun wasn't loaded, they had no ammunition for it and it wasn;t in working order, which is why they got found not guilty for attempted murder of a police officer.

They took that gun with them purely so that the police would shoot them

thus the equittal..

It's still grounds for attempted murder. As evidenced by them being charged with it.
