Woolwich serious incident

And now we pay for their food, accommodation, utility bills, xbox games, clothes, gym equipments and books.

I'd rather they got off with it to be honest, and lived in a life of fear that everyone in the UK wanted them dead, couldn't get a job, had no money for food, oh yeah, since it was an act of war, anyone who acted upon killing them would also be let off, since they would technically be defending their country.

Of course it is murder

They were not even military personnel

Do you understand the purpose of a trial? It's to allow for all evidence, both prosecuting and defense, to be given. This happened, they were found guilty.

Also, to be devil's advocate... "They were not even military personnel" ... says who?

Definition of "Military Personnel"
n. someone who serves in the armed forces; a member of a military force
n. soldiers collectively
Emphasis my own. That bit was precisely his defense. He claims he is part of a military force - something that is actually arguable, and was, in court.

Why so? Well, what is a "Military force"? It's simply an armed force. Something that an organised group with weapons certainly is. Al Qaeda fits this bill, hence his claim to be a soldier. Anyway.. this was all given as evidence in the trial. We all know the result of that, but don't be so quick to dismiss. It's always a lot more complicated than at face value.

I never really understood the relevence of them believing they were fighting a war - it wouldn't have changed the crime even if they were, as Marine A found out recently after his actions in a theatre of war?

They said they were fighting a war.

In that case try them in a military court and "if" found guilty put them in a military prison.

See how long they last then

Fox, your logic and common sense isn't needed here. Get back to Motors.

Although think the Geneva convention may have come into it on his part. You know, that thing British soldiers are bound by but the Taliban aren't...

To be fair that charge was shaky at best I'm sure I read it was based on the fact one of them walked a bit too close to the cop car with the cleaver held over his head, which while threatening doesn't really come close to attempting to murder someone.

From the video i saw, one of them ran towards the police car with the cleaver in his hand. So the police had to shoot him while still inside the vehicle.

Yup its pretty clear in the video he ran full tilt directly at the cop car brandishing a knife while the other one strolled down the pavement pointing a gun (unloaded as it turns out) at the police car. Both took rounds to the groin and leg areas sadly doesn't seem to have done as much damage as the video seemed to show :(

It was really impressive work by the police armed response officers. Great show for British policing.

They were protesting about the killing of fellow muslims weren't they?

Thank goodness their heroic actions against the full might of our armed forces has put a stop to all that,
wow, so marytr, many virgin, much blood, such hero, wow.

Although if someone had pointed out beforehand to Dumb and Dumber that it's actually muslims doing most of the killing of other muslims, then we could have been spared their tedious five minutes of fame and some poor sod might still have been with his family at Christmas.
