Woolwich serious incident

No matter how arbitrary and unnecessary? What does anyone have to gain by reporting people for partaking in illegal activities where they are only harming themselves?

You really do seem to think that legal is a synonym for right and moral, whereas illegal is a synonym for illegal and wrong.

If being gay was still illegal, would you report people for being gay if you witnessed it?

To be fair though it doesn't just affect them. You may think its just a bit of weed but the effects are bigger than just the person that smokes it. Unless the person smoking it lives on his own interacts with noboday miles away from anyone else and grows his own

If you break the law and I know about it I will report it.

Wow...you're a fun guy...

Everyone in the UK knows the law and should abide by it as most do.

Hmm, I would actually ascertain very few people, if anyone, knows the full extent of the law, and people break it every minute of every day.

I mean what's the point of having laws if people just go out and break them and then claim it as a "minor infraction"

Because we are policed by consent and judgement not in some absolute authoritarian/totalitarian state...

Remember that next time you are doing 80 on the motorway.

I haven't had a car since coming back to the UK from florida as I won't pay the petrol prices. And no I never do over 60mph on an HW

If you want to live in a lawless society then move and take your druggie friends with you :)

You didn't answer his question.

Do you have some strange perfect morality of the law view or something?.

I just follow the law as most people in the UK do. What's wrong with that?
anyway back on topic.

All of that applies to smokers in general, so it's not really a consideration for the legality aspect of it.

EDL blaming all Muslims.
Some* atheists blaming all religions.
Some* Muslims saying well its understandable because of what the West has done.
government for encouraging immigration without purpose with little thought for the obvious consequences.
government for doing bugger all about radicalisation.
Some* Guardianesque readers who would stop the government doing anything about radicalisation due to "human rights" concerns.
Fixed :p

Why not directly answer the question?

You do realise that skirting around it is no different to openly admitting you can't because you're talking rubbish don't you?

So I'll present it again;

Is illegal a synonym for wrong and immoral?

He was quite right in the way he posted.

This seems to be a mistake people commonly make.

By retarded Muslims, he means Muslims that are retarded, not that Muslims are retarded, and so on.

It's the same when Shayper posted about people's thinly veiled racist rants and he had people sperging at him about how unfair it was of him to say that.

unfortunately i think this is the problem. people break the laws and dont really get any punishment for it. thrown in jail, out years earlier.

these guys that performed this act yesterday will be thrown in jail but will be out and free to walk around after they have served their time, as that is the laws.

religion is to blame here, its always to blame.

Sorry but when I smoked B&H they weren't brought into the country Illegally. I didn't have to bring the local community down by buying off a street corner from someone who most probably deals in the "harder" drugs.

Do I need to go on

What I'm saying is I could read the bible & selectively pick sections out to justify pretty much anything (as extremists do with most religions).
Or you could research the Reformation and realise that your statement is completely ignorant?
This is about the billionth time someone in here has trotted out the same BS, "look, the Old Testament Bible says it's OK to kill everyone, the Quoran isn't so bad after all".

This man was a serving soldier who had seen action (the attackers stated and knew this), it’s no different to the killings of Afghans whilst in non-combative situations, which happens all the time. If one is just, so is the other.
You really aren't doing the Muslim community any favours by coming out with such offensive statements.

For those who actually have an understanding of the topic they are trying to discuss, they will know that hating women and removing their rights is not an Islamic trait, but a cultural one based upon the backward cultures of some people who follow the religion simply because that's the religion of flavour from where they are from.
This is true, and it is the one thing the Muslim community can start to address for themselves, instead of hiding behind the cut-n-paste condemnations from the Muslim Council. I filled a whole thread with this but I still got called racist for pointing it out though :(

It is this difference of cultures that leave many people uneasy, and it's nothing to do with skin colour or the stealing of jerbs.

I often smirk or *rolleyes* when I read what Craterloads posts, however he has some very valid points in the last few pages. Make no mistake about it, this was a terrible event, but there are reasons behind why this happened.

People with crappy lives all over the world are susceptible to brainwashing from extreme groups whatever faith they may be. Often these people have little or no meaning to their lives, such extremism gives them a purpose. It also works with people who are just plain old idiots. The details in this case aren't completely clear yet so I don't know if this can be applied to them.

Also the way western media handles faith-related news is part of the problem. When was the last time you heard a positive heart-warming story with Christianity or Islam at the forefront of it? All we hear about is child abuse and bombs, radicals mostly. Of course positive stories don't sell papers, but a group of 20 numpties burning a flag do. We're more uncomfortable with the Islamic stories though as this is still relativity new on our radar.

I don't believe it's a case of "us and them", it's a problem with deep roots in our society with no easy answer, but our everyday actions and prejudices don't help the situation.

Yes please do, because your knowledge on this subject of 'drug dealers' is fascinating.

No, people are to blame. They are just using religion as an excuse.

Well considering that world seems to be coming around to the fact that legalising weed is actually a good idea, then maybe you can understand that not every law is right and may need changing?

Or you could research the Reformation and realise that your statement is completely ignorant?
This is about the billionth time someone in here has trotted out the same BS, "look, the Old Testament Bible says it's OK to kill everyone, the Quoran isn't so bad after all".

In what way is it? Many people take a lot of the bible as what they should be doing. Don't ignore that fact.

You really aren't doing the Muslim community any favours by coming out with such offensive statements.

Derp is the only descriptive word that I can apply to this.

This is true, and it is the one thing the Muslim community can start to address for themselves, instead of hiding behind the cut-n-paste condemnations from the Muslim Council. I filled a whole thread with this but I still got called racist for pointing it out though :(

Now you are just trolling. Sweeping generalisations do nothing for discussion and just make you appear ignorant.

It is this difference of cultures that leave many people uneasy, and it's nothing to do with skin colour or the stealing of jerbs.

Is it? I don't feel uneasy at all! And neither do most well balanced people. It's the extremists on both sides that makes me feel uneasy :)
