Woolwich serious incident

You do realise that anybody could have made that account in a bid to draw more negativity towards Muslims? Surely you are smarter than that Steve? C'mon Steve...

I never pretended they were a majority, just that that they existed (the same point spoffle made, that they imported this culture from a backward country)

It is this minor group that the community could be doing something more to integrate.

Instead you go off on a rant about something else? This is why I suggest you don't actually read what is written, you just look at the name tag.

I must have misunderstood you then, in that case I apologise.

Please don't insinuate I have some sort of personal crusade against you, I really don't have the time or the effort to want to do that. Hell, sports_brah insulted me earlier in the thread and i don't carry any grudge. I was attempting to answer your question as I interpreted it. I obviously made a misinterpretation.

You really wouldn't have liked it.

The one that sticks out stark as the day I read it is a wheelchair-bound individual actually making the statement "if it isn't white it isn't right".

I took great pleasure in banning him, and to be fair he'd had it coming a long time.

You seem to ban anyone with an opinion though.

I get the feeling that amidst the heated discussion, you're both taking eachother out of context, because the subtext of what you're both saying seems to be fairly similar.

Islamistan was a close one, it very nearly was. :D

Ooh ooh, was it Cheets64?

Oh dear, I'm glad I wasn't around in the darker days then :(

I guess some continual perma perma perma bannage and the change of ownership helped, anyway I'm not here to bring up the past, but credit where credit is due.

Back on topic, where do we go from here? There is obviously a lot of hatred from both 'sides'. It's easier to do horrible things to people when they have done horrible things to them.

Does who did what first really matter? Is there no way out of 'an eye for an eye'? Both sides have been taking eyes for so long, and while I shudder to think who has taken more eyes... there must be some way of stopping all this. Peacefully.

Yes, that's exactly what I do.

It's nothing to do with trolling, breaking rules, personal attacks or anything like that; and that's not why people are thanking the team I am a part of for keeping this discussion going as it is.

No thanks to you, I would add.

Mind actually contributing to the discussion rather than posting pointless pictures?

Then I can't take any further post from you in this thread seriously. What a ridiculous thing to say...

Well, he is the mighty Gillbot. ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY GILLBOT.

No, he wasn't wheelchair bound unless he claimed to be so for benefit fraud. Wouldn't have put it past him to be honest.

Have to admit I felt pretty angry about this, this morning. Having mixed emotions I must admit.

What I'm feeling at the moment is why anyone would choose to stay in this country, benefit from it, be supported by it, and then actively set out to attack it? Why should be put up with that crap, and why should we have them here. On the flip side, I'm feeling, that we should make more of an effort to making these people feel more a part of our society, so that this doesn't happen.

Perhaps we should be vetting asylum seekers more? (I know and am friendly with a fair few people who have sought asylum, and my parents have pretty much adopted an Eritrean family (good friends)). I am not against asylum seekers.

Honestly don't really know what to be feeling at the moment, it's just a rather messed up situation.

He should have known that OcUK is a Hovis only forum

I think you need to learn a bit more history. I very carefully didn't say they were elected, and they don't have to be to be recognised as the 'ruling party'.

Recognised by whom you say? Well, diplomatic recognition was only given by 3 countries, but interaction with them by the wider community was normal. There was a time before the name Taliban was synonymous with Terrorist.

The Americans here, when they invited Taliban officials to the US to sign a gas pipeline deal across Afghanistan.

Sounds like the ruling party to me...

Recognised by 3 countries lol

Regardless of others wanting to talk to them I don't see an issue with referring to their rule as an occupation - they weren't in power for long, they took power by force and they imposed their will on the population.
