Carrick is shockingly bad and Heskey, well nuff said.

I reckon the US will win tonight, they've got nothing to lose, there are no expectations of them but they're actually not a bad team these days. I can see England going down 2-1 tonight.
 
Anyone heard this rumour about an un-named player turning his room into a hair salon and some of the players getting hair cuts ... ?!?! ... an odd way to pass the time really :P

Even if you weren't biased it's still the truth. Gerrard has just had a totally **** season, whereas the ever-reliable Frank has had a great one. I think this game will be a lot closer than a lot of people think and USA could even win it if England don't take them seriously enough.

Can't argue with 1 goal in 8 from a striker. :o

Darren Bent etc must wonder what they have to do, Heskey given 60 odd caps with a **** poor record Bent gets 1-2 games and dropped.

I'm going to count today how many times Heskey falls over when confronted with a goal scoring chance.

Heskey isn't a goal scorer, but he's a total workhorse and constantly makes things happen.
Yes, it would be good if he could do both but I reckon he's a very useful asset to our team.

Are you watching the same Heskey as everyone else? He just stands around on the edge of the box and occasionally wins a header. That injury that he dished out to Rio as well... You have to ask yourself who is more important to England's aspirations, Heskey, or Ferdinand? People may not like him, but Crouch is a proven England goalscorer and even though all of his goals are absolute pap he still puts them away.
 
Ferdinand is a much more important player and it's a tragedy that we've lost him. Nonetheless, I still think Heskey is very important. Not to start every game granted, obviously Rooney must, but he should still be there and fighting for selection.

Though, if I had to choose between Crouch and Heskey I would side with Crouch.
I just don't think he's totally useless as many are claiming.

No we shouldnt, we should play the formation that the majority of players play for their club, and we should play those players in their club positions.

Virtually none of the starting 11 play in a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 for their clubs.

Most of the 11 play in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-2-1-2-1.

The starting 11 based on the players he has available should be:

Green.
Carragher, King, Terry, Cole.
2 of either Carrick/Gerrard/Barry (he has left the only viable defensive midfield option behind in scott parker and If Gerrards forward game needs to be sacrificed so be it)
Lampard
Lennon/SWP J cole.
Rooney.
 
And if SWP is chosen ahead of Lennon... God help England.


Why he brought SWP who isn't playing for City instead of Johnson who is....

So much for picking based on form.
