Well that was a shock, not. I said on the first page of the group C thread this is the worst team I've ever seen england take to a tournament.
I swear to god I'd rather we had Neville at right back. You cannot play against disiplined sides at this level playing names on a team sheet instead of the right players for the roles.
We cannot adapt, it's the same format time after time.
For all the stick Rooney will get and lets face it dafoe as well, I cannot think of a time in my life when I've seen forwards go 4 games and get as little service as they got.
Gerrard is a great player but he is no left midfielder, he was all over the place again. I said before the game we would get murdered for space on the wings because no one knows what they should be doing.
Milner got bless him shouldn't be near the right side of englands midfield ever again. 1 cross from 8 found an england player againist slovenia, that should have been clear enough indication. Yet still people will blame rooney. When rooney has to come so deep so often to hunt for the ball you will never get the best from him.
Capello should now go tbh, he promised a new era where the best players for each position would be picked. He lied. He also doesn't have a clue what to do as a back up plan.
Now the good news, thats the last time we will have to hear the lampard/gerrard dilemma at a world cup.
For me the only england players to leave with any self respect are Ashley Cole and James. Who would have though that.

England were missing Hargreaves, Rio and Beckham. They would have added confidence, passion and maturity.
It would have been a different kettle of fish had we played well and gone out, but as it was we defended dreadfully and paid for it. Germany were the much better side. And with the 'talent' we have in the team we should have won this game and indeed the games before.
I honestly don't think it was, I don't think they were running anywhere near full steam and the fact we even got some chances I think is more a bad reflection on them than a good reflection on us.
