The manager can't take the whole blame, just the tactical side of it. It's also down to the 'talent' to come through on the day, which they didn't.

He won't resign....what a surprise :p :D

He will meet with the FA about his future!

Someone wants compensation :D

Four year contract just signed so it'll cost the FA a fortune to get rid of him and yet they were that desperate to avoid speculation of his future during the tournament with Inter apparently interested. :)

To be honest, I think we ought to thank Germany, 4-1 is at least not as embarrassing as the 12 Argentina would probably have put past us.

Lol those pics made me laugh at least.

We were horrible, Gerrard was our best outfield player and even he was poor, Lampard for once wasn't the most useless players on the pitch but he was still poor. Upson was at pub-football level, he should never have been at the world cup; this is a player that was owned all day by Wolves' Kevin Doyle - no offence to Doyley. I think Rooney has been sedated and Terry is obviously a waste of space without either a deep d-line or a faster partner. Defoe never had a solid touch on the ball; in fact I think I saw a german smearing butter on "das kleine spieler's bootz". Willem Defoe would be a bigger threat up front!

But lets take the win graciously; Germany played their football fantastically and we can now look forward to this 'golden' - or more accurately - pyrite generation making way for less over rated players to feel the pride of playing for their country.

Capello seems to have lost the dressing room to me big style. His disciplinarian methods seemed to be what England needed in the qualifiers when he only had them to himself for relatively short periods, but it patently hasn't worked when you put them all together for an extended time in a tournament. The Solvenia result only papered over the cracks. The truth of the matter is this crop of england players cannot seem to maintain their discipline and crack at the mearest sight of pressure. Also Gerrard as an england captain has not worked AT ALL. The surly, sulky **** was totally unable to instill any fight in the players, or himself. Unforunately the same thing will happen if Capello sticks around for the Euros, he may be able to smack things together for the quals, but come the actual tournament this will all happen again.

I was sort of right......

England pulled a goal back in the 37th minute when a short Lampard corner from the right was played to Gerrard who crossed into the box. Upson, atoning for his earlier error, rose highest above the Germany defence and with Neuer stranded, powered a header into the net. Meetings between these two sides often provide talking points and this one's came 60 seconds after Upson's goal when Lampard's shot from the edge of the box struck the underside of the crossbar and bounced down, with the referee ruling the ball had not crossed the goalline.
