He wasn't as exposed against Slovenia because we were controlling the game but you could see he was positionally retarded. I mentioned it during that game, he was coming out of the back 4, trying to win the ball just outside the oppo's 18 yard box.

Against better players he was always going to get pulled apart, added to that, Terry seemingly forgot he wasn't the left sided CB today and the result is a raping from the Germans.

You be stupid to sack Capello. The blame firmly lies on the players. Not good enough and show no sign of technical skill from 85% of that squad. No class no fight no spirit.

It's root and branch I think, time to look at the youth setups, english players getting a look in at the clubs and really focussing on bringing fast passing, quick moving midfield players through.

I'm not that bothered we got beat. We got beat well and it was coming judging from the hype and circus that gets involved with England at a world cup.

We are old fashioned, lets go 4 4 2 and lets lump balls around and tackle hard.

So 34 goals in 44 games is no longer good enough to be considered a class player. Guess he's just lucky.

Idiots used to say the same about Henry only being good enough against poor teams.

I look forward to Englands new era of Crouch and Dafoe. I used to love watching Owen try to get on the end of hoofed balls.

Spot on. They just didn't work well together. Watching Barry, Upson and Terry trying to chase Ozil, Muller and the strikers was just painful. We needed the stadium sniper that follows Ronaldo to make an appearance and actually shoot them to put them out of their misery!

Ditto. Said several times during the Slovenia match that he was dodgy with his positioning and was surprised that he started today's game when there were 3 better (IMO) alternatives.

Its as simple as this, to be a WORLD CLASS PLAYER you have to perform to a WORLD CLASS LEVEL in the WORLD CUP :D

He didn't, so he's not world class

You're right about including Barry too. It's difficult to blame him too much, because he's not a naturaly DM but if he's going to be asked to do that job then he's got to learn to actually sit infront of the back 4 and not to try and push forward.

Rooney is far far FAR from being crap. He's one of the most intelligent strikers in the world. As laughable as that sounds...

He had a **** poor tournament though, but he's certainly not crap.
