Haven't been able to bring myself to make a post, but the self-opinionated, biased and just dam right clueless posts by some people are making it extremely hard.
First off, I am really struggling right now, as I am trying to create some excuse to cover up for that abismal performance, and I just can't.
I'm trying to persuade myself that if the lampard GOAL was given, it would have made a difference, but it really wouldn't have.
As aforementioned, performances in all three quarters were just shockingly poor, the defence were caught out of position far too often, and sometimes hanging around attacking positions when the germans were breaking on a counter. The midfield, filled with big name, out of position, players who appeared lifeless for the majority of the game, why on earth capello insists on playing them in bizzare positions when they have proved themselves time and time again in other positions, e.g. Gerrard. Then finally the attackers, as much as I would like to blame them as they obviously should be the one's scoring goals, the service provided was completely ludicrous, people severely battering rooney with ridiculous comments need to realize that the service towards him has been shocking, the majority of the time, he's had to drop deep just to get a hold of the ball, were he then made a few clever runs at the german defence, to them find absolutely nobody to give the ball to.
Regarding Cappello; A friend told me that Crouch has the highest goals scored this world cup, qualifiers inc. I'm not sure whether that's correct, but regardless, how this guy wasn't even given a chance to shine whatsoever, and beaten FOUR times, to the lineup by <insert accurate description>, HESKEY, is completely mind boggling. I believe the defence would have been a lot better with Ferdinand, but we still have more options than Terry and Upson. The stubborn nature of Cappello, sticking with the same lineup & formation continuously is worthy of the sack alone. I do also think we missed Beckham's ability to play wonderful balls across the field.
In conclusion, the blame for our failure has to be shared amongst the many contributing factors; the media, as usual over-hyping the players and placing unnecessary pressure amongst them, the manager for some absolutely terrible decisions, obviously the players, who look as passionate as a damp old sock, who honestly didn't look all that bothered at the final whistle, that they had just let the millions at home down and crashed out of the world cup at the hands of their biggest international rivals and we also need to blame ourselves, for expecting too much and just being left dissapointed.
LOL, Hes failed show up for the big games for manu too, hes crap and can only score agianst lower dpeths of the prem.
Comments like this are just ludicrous though, there's plenty more across the thread, this the closest however.
Please excuse the long post, I've been holding it in
