Not trolling tbh, defending myself from personal insults.

Just putting my opinion across that Rooney is crap, and tbh 90% people on this forum agree with me.

Well, your opinion is (as said by others) a stupid one.

Its based on nothing but him playing a few games in an awful team.

Everyone did badly, singling him out because the press hyped him up is just ridiculous.

Has Messi played as well for Argentina as he has for Barca?

It's very rare that you see a player replicate their club form at International level these days.

And sometimes the opposite way around, David Healy anyone? 35 goals in 80 caps, surely a world class player!

So if Argentina failed to qualify, by your reckoning Messi isn't world class? Hmm..

It's not necessarily Arshavin's fault that Russia didn't qualify, but he's certainly their best player, hence why I singled him out.

Not at all Dazza, I was playing along with his theory on the definition of World Class. :p

Don't insult my opinion with your petty facepalms

All of that is completely irrelevant, the world cup is the ultimate stage where the best players produce quality which is the ultimate judge as to wether or not these players are "the best in the world", why? because it is where the worlds greatest players play

If you need a team to CARRY YOU to be a world class player how on earth can you be a world class PLAYER

Facepalm yourself

Facepalm

After watching this match you could say rooney was **** as a player but he isn't. Rooney as a player he is great it's just that he has had a duff tournament and now he's deemed the sole destroyer of the English teams football, he had a seriously crap game today. But the team as a whole was crap.

But so did everyone on that pitch today, every single player on the English team was playing terribly, it was unbelievable to watch.

Well the blame game begins and the need for a scapegoat sees everyone trying to single out individuals for England's failure to go through.

Well England football team are out, due to the fact that they played shockingly bad as a team, poor passing, poor anticipation of fellow players position's ( how many times did we see passes to nobody, balls played to dead space ), poor first touch by almost all players and a lack of creativity in the last third of the field ( how many times did they play the long ball forward ).

Fabio Cappello is a fantastic manager ( his track record proves it ) and with the way the team played even Jesus could not have pulled a half decent performance from them.

They collectively sucked and not one player is to blame.

In Rooney's defence, he's used to playing with a team that's looking to get into offensive positions, at the WC he's been playing too deep due other failings in the team and when he's got the ball there's been no one to pass to.

There was a stage in the first half that sums up Englands world cup for me, Milner picked the ball in midfield and under absolutely no pressure from the German's passed it to Gerrard I think it was who was standing less than 5 yards from him. Totally shirked any responsibility of what to do with the ball.

I never said that, the argument here is WORLD CLASS >>PLAYER<<, what does PLAYER mean? it means singular

I'm not insulting you, just trying to get over a point, if Argentina go out then yes Messi IS a world class player, you just have to watch him to know that.

Oh look, its another clueless armchair manager.

As far as Im concerned england are dead as a football team simply wont support them ever again.

As usual we didn't even look match fit the players don't care all they care about is their inflated salarys and getting back to their holidays.

The FA needs sorting out get rid of the old men get someone in that can appoint a manager that picks players on form not overrated false reputations.

rooney isn't world class at all that has been utterly proven he's a slow plodding pedictable lump that's lucky enough to be playing around true world class players this is all.

.
At least I am not the only one he sees it like this!

Not just the press that hyped him up is it, members of this forum did to.

Blasphemy! Jesus would have gone in goal himself, Mueller shoots, Jesus saves! (sorry, old joke I know).

if Argentina go out then yes Messi IS a world class player, you just have to watch him to know that.

But you can say the same about Rooney. Messi has games where he is completely out of it too.

Even though Rooney had a **** world cup, England as a team were as bad if not worse. He was barely getting the ball, no support when he had the ball - something he is not used to with Man Utd.

England are just **** :p

Some of this argument is toss.

Rooney technically probably is our best player "world class" is something that is thrown around too much, but he could be.

he still has a future with England.

Who else in that team does? Milner.. erm.. out.

We are old fashioned. Too much hype and i'm glad all the cringeworthy blind faith showed in this team can now be silenced.

I get you, don't worry, but your argument was they had to play at the world cup to be "world class". My point was if Argentina had NOT qualified, by your reckoning that means Messi can't be a world class player as he didn't play in the world cup. To that, I'd wager 95% of football fans would heavily disagree. Anyone who watches football knows how good he is, I'm just disagreeing with your requirements to be in the world class category :)

Do you actually have a point? or are you just as pointless as your message?

So, essentially you believe that to be World Class, you need to play in the World Cup?

Rooney did. And it's arguable whether his performance was due to his team mates or not so going on League performance then, you could say he is World Class.
