World Cup Bets

Do most of you bet just on the winner of the game? Or correct scores and scorers . I've made about 100 over the past 2 weeks but I've only been betting £1 £2 here and there other than a couple of free £10 bets.

Usually i do just the winners but this week i started betting on who qualifies for next round to maximise my profits...seems to have done the job really....i dont bother with correct scores or scorers...think i only bet about £20 on Villa to score in the honduras group game a couple of weeks ago.

So like tonights game you bet on Spain to win and also for them to qualify?

It has to be either bet to win/draw/lose or qualify, I don't think you can combine the 2 in the same slip. I could be wrong though.

Signed up to betfair, with the £25 risk free bet. Backing Spain (won yesterday), Brazil, Uruguay, Germany @ 26.26 odds. :(

Yep stuck some money on Spain to win in regulation time and some more money to qualify which Spain did so i made some money from both markets...remember i was doing it through betfair though and not through a bookies.

Betting question (for tennis not football).

While the first set is going on, you can bet on the outcome of it, say e.g. 6-4 or something.

However when that finishes you can't bet on any subsequent sets, why is that?

Straight bet:p...might as well keep it simple i say....yeh need to find it..probably in my wallet hiding away i imagine:p.#

BTW Psycho are you up or down so far in your betting??

its hard to keep track since ive been using 3/4 different sites. i usually only use william hill.

my kitty was roughly £150 that i put in altogether on the world cup.

from that i have £170 in my william hill acount.

£40 in my Eurosport account.

£15 in my paddypower account.

I also still have £92.50 worth of bets still active.

so to sum up i am roughly £75 up with £92.50 worth of bets still active (which the stake has already been won back)

so if worst comes to worst and all my £92.50 worth of bets lose, i will still be £75 up. if they all come through then i should be over £600 up.

also i may have won more at the start of the cup and withdrew it, i cant remember now

Holland to win
Germany to win
Spain to win
Uruguay to win

42/1 with a free bet
Who was that free bet with if you don't mind sharing? I've seen the £25 from betfair and the £20 ones from 888sport and betclic.

I thought that had to be one single bet though, i.e. one team to win one match. Or can you have more than one result on a single bet (like you have?). Sorry I don't know the terminolgy, never gambled before!

Any more decent no strings free bets anyone knows of? Quite interested in them :D

But before i get too greedy im calling it quits...ive already stuck £100 down on Brazil at the start of the WC to win through ladbrokes...got odds of 9/4 which arent great but if they win then ill make a bit of money through that...

I hope for your sake you didn't get 9/4

just opened up a betfair account - they had a free bet and cashback thing but im not sure if it will work.

£25 on spain to win against paraguay in 90 minutes. only make something like £13.50 so it isnt huge winnings but all the other games are looking very tight.

expect a lot of draws now or favourites losing, but which ones?

Thanks for your help going to sound a dumb questions here but what's the difference with the bookies and betfair then i thought they were bookies?

Mainly betfair isnt a bookies ie its done online but instead of changing odds with bookies you do it with other people who are also logged on...advantages to that is that you tend to get better odds with betfair than you would with a bookie. Plus you have more markets to bet on and unlike a bookie where you place your bet and thats it...with betfair you can bet whilst the game is being played so you can change your bets at any time ie if you back a team to win and they arent then you could always back the other team or back the draw if its going that way.

Think I might build another accumulator,

Brazil to Qualify - 1.44
Uruguay to Qualify - 1.53
Spain to win - 1.44

But I'm not sure on the last outcome; Germany or Argentina to Qualify? Which is more likely?

Could also go for something like; over 2.5 goals (in any match)? Which is more likely, Spain v Paraguay, Brazil v Netherlands or Germany v Argentina?

How do you change the bets once they are already placed?

He means, trading out of a bet; say you place a £1000 bet on a team to win at odds of 1.5, if the team wins you gain £500. If your team concedes a goal, the odds will increase, lets just say to 1.6 (remember your bet is at 1.5); now what you could do is lay the team you bet on (which means you are betting AGAINST the win [draw or loss]) at odds of 1.6, you may only get £850 back but this way you won't loose the full £1000. In reality the odds can fluctuate much more (or less) but it can get you out of a pickle.
