World Cup Group B (England, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago, Sweden) **SPOILERS**

@ right back
lol I wouldnt put it past Sven!

tbh I think he's more likely to play Hargreves up front than ever give Walcott a chance there in this world cup. Not sure what came over him when he picked him seeing as now he looks reluctant to play him (he'd have brought him on against Paraguay to replace Owen if he thought he was up to it).

I just hope he doesnt bring Rooney on even for 20 minutes especially if the games already won by then as it is just asking for trouble going against practically everyones (bar Rooneys) wishes. 20 minutes against Sweden maybe 20 minutes against T&T no.

I really hope England put in a good performance, cos on current performances so far in the WC they have NO CHANCE of winning. Most of the unfancied teams have been playing some great stuff (except in the final third) but nonetheless, still MUCH BETTER than england did against Paraguay. I thought Sweden played some great stuff and were unlucky not to beat T&T but Shaka Hislop put in a great performance.

Tbh, England have 3 match/tournament winners in the team; these are Terry, Gerrard and Rooney. I cant see any of the others (especially Lampard, who is not convincing for England IMO, he just disappears in games way too much) being able to turn a match and pick a game up by the scruff of the neck and make the team win. Terry, Stevie and Rooney can do this, and they have proved in the past how good they really are.

Sven HAS to let Gerrard play his Liverpool role; with him in his best position England can walk over teams, especially when Rooney is back, the two scousers will domiante and destroy teams.

On a side note, i think most of the England team are overrated. Ashley Cole was good at Euro 2004 but he has nothing on players like Roberto Carlos. Look at the Czech fullbacks, Jankulovski and Grygera; they were immense and can play that killer final ball that Cole can definately not do. Same for Gary Neville, nothing like the Czechs and nothing on Cafu. He was great in Euro 96 but that was his best. The only world class players in the starting XI are the 3 mentioned before, with good players in Cole, Lampard, Beckham and Owen.

The media and TV pundits are just bigging up the squad too much; they cant play well as a team, and there are much better teams in the world cup than england.

we have an excuse now..

apparently german fans making a noise outside the team hotel or something...

check out bbc sport for more info.. im tired and cant be bothered with links or more detail

I think David James could do a good job up front, better than Wallcot.
Hehe anyone remember James' cameo up front this season when he went up for a last minute corner? :p

what part of Scotland you living in? :D

Dude, im from Wembley actually. Im a diehard England fan, wearing my England shirt as i speak! Im just frustrated with Englands tactics, and i really think other teams will walk over us based on current performances...but im still gonna support them to the end. Its just SOOO ANNOYING cos the way we play is rather lame compared to the other teams; and because Becks wont get subbed we arent getting the best of our other midfield players; lets face it, if Lennon is to come on itll prob be Lamps/Gerrard/Cole to come off even if they are having a good game compared to Becks. Which isnt really fair.

BTW im just being realistic, doesnt mean im from scotland :)

Hey all. I created a little msn display pic for you all English supporters :)

lets just hope we put the paraguay game behind us and play well today, otherwise i cant see us going very far

What do we need to put behind us? A decent enough performance that we never looked like losing?

Naan - why were Cafu and Carlos any better than Neville and Cole? I'd say we had the better two defenders out of the four. Carlos and Cafu hardly set the world alight, and they're never as fast going forward as they used to be.

Beckham haters - who would you play instead? Beckham has played solidly all season for Madrid, creating countless chances and goals. There is no-one I would rather see on right wing. We've only been hoofing it because Owen is off his game/recovering, and what else do yo do when your other forward is 6'7"?

I still fancy us for a decent win - a goal from open play in either half just to shut people up. A Spain/Czech-esque battering would be nice too.
