World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

I can see the prices rising very quickly in a similar fashion to how the RTX 30 series went from a surprising MSRP to being scalped by the literal truckload given the low yield statements of QD-OLED being passed about.

Get em while you can, I will be.

Tempted but I’d prefer a 38” ultrawide as most of them have a vertical resolution of 2160 and can support a 4k naive resolution which would make them far more versatile that the 1440p of 34” models.

Hopefully pre-orders go up soon so it won't be a case of just 10 in stock with thousands trying to order!

Fully expecting them to be scalped.

Awesome thread there Nexus. Will read thru it and check out that DF video about UW Right Now :)

Oh man this is getting crazy - cant stop thinking about this Alienware. Truly are a gamechanger on every level!

Oh and im looking forward to more news in that UW thread!!

Cant wait to it drops here in Sweden..Damn im never been this excited ever for new HW!

Ahh cannot resist. Kickstarted your great thread Sir :D

:D

A lot has changed since that OP, well, not really actually, just a lot more content, a lot more 21.9 monitors and far better "official" support now

I'd rather have this and a 4k 2nd monitor to be honest, easier to drive 1440p UW for games, 4k for work and no risk of burn in

I think I am going to stick a pre-order in, have a play about with it for a week or so and see how I get on with it. Pretty much risk free doing so and can potentially sell it for even more if I don't want it :p:D

That price to me doesn't sound right at £1099, sounds like its without the VAT, add the 20% and its more like 1.3k which is what vincent teoh suggested yesterday well $1300 at least.

Also we know when US price tags are $1500, UK price should obviously be way below that more like 1.2k, but we get ripped off and it ends up £1.5k instead.

I hope am wrong !

US tag is $1299 though, not $1500 ;o

Update: Totaly changed my mind - for what it's worth!
Tried some gaming tonight on my PG279Q - same vert space (fov) as this UW, as we know!

I hated the bloody supersmal fov. No way I can live with that, no matter how good it May be!

So I will Definetly go for the C2 42 incher, and be immersed!

Fair enough :)

I would say that it's not a great experience trying it on a 27" screen though as you are losing a lot of height there, in fact, it's even smaller height than a 29" 21.9 UW....

At least with the 42c2 and this alienware, we as consumers have real choice! And I can't imagine the 42c2 will be constantly sold out to the levels that gpus are (or this monitor might be)!
