World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

Death on the Nile is such an amazing movie to watch on this. The detail and lighting is so nice throughout and the production quality is excellent, really shows off OLED.

I only just noticed that Netflix maintains the aspect ratio of the content and will fill an ultra wide screen if the content was mastered in 2.39:1 :D

Yep but if it doesn't or you want to watch 16:9 filling 21:9 (and some shows are slightly wider than 16:9 I found too), then browser extensions like Ultrawideo will allow you to use hotkeys to change on the fly.

Anyone else noticing that their screen is not going to sleep after x minutes set in windows?

Not sure if it is windows or the screen.

Try to turn Eco Mode off in the OSD. You also probably have Display Sleep after X set up in Windows too:

Hmm strange, perhaps the sleep/power mode state settings in the BIOS are not enabled too?

Hi,

Could anyone with this monitor do the following test for me:

With vrr enabled, hdr off and dark room:

Set 175hz
Open Lagom black level Web page
Take a picture of the first row of darker squares

Set 60hz
Open Lagom black level Web page
Take a picture of the first row of darker squares

Could you either upload, or let me know if there is any difference?

Same on all refresh rates. All squares visible with the first block just one shade above the pitch black background as you would expect. Do note however that the mode you are in will dictate how these look.

I am on Gamma 2.4, sRGB in Creator mode with brightness 52, contrast 65.

I can't hear mine at all unless I put my head directly at the back of the monitor.

Does seem to vary from person to person, be that the fan variance itself or ambient noise affecting what people hear (my pc is pretty quiet but not "silent")

Thank you :) much appreciated with the reply.

I posted a video or two of the fan noise before if you look back, It is audible in the video and is audible from several feet away when the fan is in its nominal speed after some time being used. It's not loud, but you certainly can hear it amongst ambient house noise.

Ok that is great news :) thanks for taking the time.

What happens on my c9 is the first few squares get lighter, only slightly, but that is the reason for the vrr flicker (so slight, others still didn't notice until they reduce the first box to 1 click into black, then when halving the framerate, could now see that 1st black square, albeit very faint). The lower from the max framerate the more the gamma raise. Its so slight, most don't notice (probably why it was ignored until 120hz was unlocked via 2.1 gpu = at 60 hz steady, no flicker but the gamma always had the slight raise which I noticed as I was already used to non vrr oled. I guess most others didn't know as they moved from LCD, and even with the slightly raised near black, would've looked 100x better). So when a games frame time is jumping up and down quickly, it manifests as flicker.

If the Dell black level gradient stays unchanged in sdr when changing from 175 to 60, then i have hope that the flicker is not the normal oled vrr flicker and so may be fixed :)
