World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

So yeah does look like you should not use manual Panel Refresh more than once a year.

No will get them closer to monitor dispatch, just says pending now should have been more clear will edit my previous post.

Was talking about the extra 2200 points which came few day's after the normal 1100 points so 3300 in total from buying this monitor at triple rewad points, all pending.

Ah cool, yes that's what they told me as well

It can, but the source application/game needs to send the HDR signal direct to the display, then Windows will do the switching. I use MPC-BE for example that does exactly that. Load a HDR movie and MPC Video Renderer (or any other you use that supports HDR passthrough) will trigger Windows to switch to HDR mode. It will then go back when you close the movie.

What needs to happen with more software is devs need to implement the HDR trigger in games, and browsers need to have additional hooks to passthrough the HDR signal to the display so when you browse say a YouTube video that is HDR, it does the same thing. The only issue I can imagine with the latter is that it will get very annoying as the display takes a few seconds to switch between SDR and HDR in this generation. Maybe in future the switchover will be seamless.

Yea, it is a bit annoying it takes a few seconds to switch over. Like you say hopefully in the future all these small things will be ironed out.

I run mine once a day and had no issues :p:cry:

Sorry Choc ;)

Worth keeping an eye on, will the no issues still remain true a year/2 years down the line? I guess you could say that's what the 3years warranty is for, but keep in mind that there's obviously a timer built into the monitor that clocks each 4hr pixel refresh and 1500 hour panel refresh, so I'd imagine they also have a counter as to how many manual refreshes have been done too and /could/ turn around and decline a warranty service because a user has manually run a panel refresh more than advised in future maybe?

That would be my concern.

By the way guys, if you want to really see what this monitor can do in games try out Horizon Zero Dawn. Grabbed it from CDKeys for around £11. The HDR in this game is something else. I remember it being awesome when playing it on my PS4 Pro a few years back on my OLED TV. But having it on a monitor right in your face, wow.

Also grabbed Shadow of a Tomb Raider. Also another good example of HDR as mentioned by others, but not quite on the same level as HZD. The great thing also for me in these two games is I actually did not notice the downgrade in resolution like I did in some others. One game I noticed it a lot in for example is Witcher 3. Weird how that works. I wonder if it has a little to do with FOV’s set by default in different games which I never tinkered with.

Yea. I definitely won’t touch it until the monitor ask for it or there is a genuine need.

Will check them out not used CDKey's in year's forgot all about them lol.
Only want Steam game key's though.

Cyberpunk £12.99 is good, but uses GOG, will end up buying the game twice when on sale on Steam have done that a few time's over the year's.

greenman gaming have Steam key's.

Same, I only buy Steam keys. Not interested in anything else. Majority of the time cdkeys is the cheapest. Also never had an issue with them. if you want Cyberpunk can only get that directly from steam I think. But most games have steam keys.

GOG > Steam, you get the DRM free version and you can still add it to Steam, but you do miss out on the achievements

Still no movement on my order... I guess they still have another 24 hours, but was hoping for it to at least go into production by now! Fingers crossed it dispatches as estimated tomorrow, but have to admit I'm not filled with confidence based on their sticking to schedule so far! :(

To be fair in the past for UK orders it seemed like it went into production hours before it shipped, so I think it'll be tomorrow we'll see that if it sticks to the 6th of April date.

But yeah, the fact it got delayed in the first place does make me worry about it sticking to schedule.

To be honest, as long as I get my promised discounts after it arrives, I'm not too bothered if it's a few days later (who am I kidding, I'll be very ****** off, but it should be worth the wait :p)

Looks like tomorrows shipment date won't be happening..... Not in production and cancel button isn't greyed out. Kind of expected it tbh, not expecting anything until next week at the earliest. If delayed again, will have to try and get another discount

I doubt you'd get more considering how difficult it was for some of us to get anything for the first delay, lol.

I finally managed to get something but only 5%. Tired of dealing with their support though, so don't think I'll bother pushing for more unless it gets delayed more.
