World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

MSI just announced the MEG 342C QD-OLED at Computex be interesting to see how it compares to the Alienware.

Some pics of it here https://www.pcmag.com/news/msis-latest-monitor-uses-samsungs-qd-oled-display-tech

Not a fan of the gold highlights, but I definitely think it looks nicer than their usual gamer focused stuff. Tiny pics so I might be mistaken, but it looks like it has way less venting than the AW so it'll be interesting to see how it handles cooling.

Not a fan of MSI. Would take a lot for me to buy from them. Good to have choice though.

Even with the shortage of AW’s I trust Dell more based on my experience with them than most other companies. Just hope mine does not fail for at least another 4-6 months as it will take that long for stock situation to normalise. After that can expect next day replacement for sure :)

If Dell does release a 27-32” 4K 120hz QD-OLED and I can shift what I have and buy that at no extra cost, I may do that potentially. Saying that though I am getting used to this potato resolution once again, so may not even bother as the extra width does come in handy for productivity. Plus running older games at native and not worrying about UI is nice.

My guys, the stars have aligned and my order went in to production at some point today! Not sure exactly when as I didn't get a notification, but forward movement is always a good sign.

Anyone with a 3rd of June estimate, check your order status on the Dell site!

Same here, 3rd June estimate and went into production this morning. Here’s hoping that means it’s actually gonna arrive soon.

If I was to order one the estimated delivery date has now gone from September to Estimated delivery date Tuesday, 4 October.
Bloody hell. It says August on their website for new orders. Why are they be saying that when your order is October?

That said, bodes well for me. My revised delivery date for the next one I got on the way is June 15, so I should be in the next lot of dispatches hopefully :)

Well I punch in my postcode and that estimate comes up...

Both are pretty ugly imo,MSI with the gold and Dell with the white! Maybe the gold strips on the MSI are rgb? Not fussed about RGB myself but if it is you can atleast changed it to something other than tacky gold, or better yet turn it off.

Oh I don't care about the backs. The Dell at least looks modern/futuristic on the back and you never see the back anyway. The MSI has too many front facing styling distractions from what I can see. I much prefer completely plain fronts with a matte case frame/bottom bezel.

The MSI definitely has some advantages over the Alienware, the built in KVM and no g-sync fan are I suppose the main ones. It's also far more likely to get firmware updates that can be installed via the user.

Did anyone notice how long it took from their order going in to production to when the cancel order button was greyed out? Mines been in production now for 36 hours but according to the site I'm still able to cancel.

Interesting... Just had a call from Syncreon about collecting my old monitor on Monday, even though the replacement isn't due till September!

Seems that Dell still have no idea what they're doing
