World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

My monitor arrived this morning(ordered 22nd March 8:30am). Everything seems perfect so far, had some marks at the top of the screen from the packaging but they are gone after wiping it with a cloth.

Not sure where to start on games/movies :D Any recommendations for what shows off the monitor the best?

Game wise, I remember Ori and the will of the wisps having really good HDR.

Wasn't overly impressed by UPS. Once I had notification that it was dispatched on Friday I made a request for it to be delivered on Wednesday (today). I then get an email on Monday morning saying it would arrive between 10am-1pm that day... Great. So I thought they'd just attempt delivery the following two days until I was able to take it. Nope they left it in my unlocked, easy access for anyone, shed that's beside my front door. Wonderful stuff...

So I had to detour home after work so I could put it in the house otherwise it would be in there until Tuesday night and I'd be worried for 36 hours that someone will half-inch it.

Anyway I got it all set up this morning on my desk mount and I love it! Only tried Dirt 5 on it so far. Gonna try Guardians of the Galaxy and SW:Fallen Order soon as I have those installed. Firmware version on mine is M0B101 if anyone is interested. I noticed the manufacture date on the box is March 2022...

Would order one right away if they were in stock. Been saying order for August delivery on Dells site for weeks now.....
If you put your postcode into the delivery checker the estimate is actually somewhere around October. The backlog seems to keep getting bigger.

Watching the new Stranger Things on this in HDR is pretty immense really. I'd say arguably a better experience than my 65" OLED but that is not a HDR panel and gen 1 so would explain why.

Well done as usual @Baddass

In the motion clarity section, a well reviewed 240hz lcd could be added in there so it’s clear that hz across diff tech don’t always means the same thing.

Linus checking the daytime comparison of QD-oled, the TV store told them they can't put QD-OLED anywhere near WOLeD in the store because the store has so much lights inside no one will buy the QD-OLED

Anyone else got a prompt to do a panel refresh yet? I got one today and was surprised. Thought that was a once a year thing??

There is speculation that the screen is recording screen on hours whilst in standby for some. Triggering the 1500hr refresh early.

Every time I turn mine on it asks me to do a pixel refresh, when I got the message asking if it was OK to do when it was off I clicked yes. I just ignore it when I turn it on and it goes away after a few seconds.

Anyone else get this?

It's once every 1500 hours, not once a year. If you manually run it, then you should run it once a year according to other OLED sources.

Yea, no way have I used it 1500 hours. Not even half that. Has to be the bug.

I won’t bother running it as there is nothing wrong with it and runs perfectly fine as is. Will probably run it at the end of the year or something.

Thats different. You have pixel refresh and panel refresh or at least those are the terms of the top of my head. The one I am on about is one that should only trigger 1500 hours apparently.

Assuming you received it in the first batch on 24th March, there have only been 64 days (1536 hours) since then! So unless you've had it powered on 24/7 since then, there's no way you could have hit the 1500 hours

I think I got it on the 30th March or something like that.
