World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

I would love to finally end up with a 27-34" 4k OLED 240hz+. But I would want to wait for a 50/60 series gpu.

I used my 42 c2 for a while, the 4090 performs well for the most part but for demanding titles I would want more performance before switching to 4k full time.

I bought a MEG 342C (£475, a few months old and perfect) with a view to switching and tbh it's damn excellent, esp love the 175Hz/10bit feature via HDMI 2.1 as you don't have to compromise like the other models. Trouble is I'm struggling to move away from my PG42UQ, it's inferior in some respects but it's just so damn immersive during gaming it's a big big plus...

Arrrrrrrgh!

Still very happy with my aw34dw tbh, been tempted many times by the AW32" 240hz but 16.9 is a no go for me. Will be very tempted by a 38/39" higher res. one come the time.

Amazed you even considered the 16.9 screen for a moment there @mrk :p

I'm not really sure what will tempt me to upgrade from the 34DW. 4k doesn't really interest me, I don't need anything bigger.

I'm still a few months away from buying a monitor but currently looking at the 34" options. The best seem to be the Alienware DWF (also the cheapest when on offer) and the MSI 342C/341CQP, though I'm not sure what the difference between the latter two is, other than OLED Care 2.0 and only 15w on the USB-C on the CQP.

The Samsung G8 seems like it has some issues, and after experiencing problems with my Odyssey G7 I don't want to have to deal with that again (though my S95B TV has been flawless, aside from having to use the service menu to overcome firmware updates ruining the EOTF tracking in game mode).

I see Gigabyte will also be releasing a 34" model at some point, any news on that?

Ordered a AW3423DWF last night to replace my AW3821DW. I've had numerous image retention/ghosting faults with the AW3821DW and it's been replaced 2 or 3 times by Dell already, they agreed to give me a refund yesterday.

How quick is the warranty turnaround on these? I have a slight bit of burn in from constantly running 50/50 split windows. It's only visible on a grey screen though so not really bothering but may as well claim on the warranty at some point before it runs out, right?

Are Dell honouring warranty for burn in? TBH it's something I should have checked!

All plugged in now and it's dreamy.

Yup, its explicitly covered.
Cheers.

@sHo0sH whenever Dell replaced my AW3821DW it usually took 3-5 days after opening a ticket with the usual back and forth of evidence, pictures, videos, service tag and a photo with bit of paper with the case number, your name, date etc by the sticker. The replacement would turn up and the old one collected either the same day, or the day after.

I want to get the 34" Samsung G8 UW OLED but burn in is a massive concern.

I have a chat client and web browser pretty much permanently on screen at least 15-16 hours a day. How long should I expect OLED to last with that kind of usage?

Flipping love this monitor :D Fast paced games just feel so at home on OLED, the instant pixel response times and colours and reflex in conjunction with a reflex supported mouse = Rapid camera control. Here's Selaco in action, I highly recommend this game, it's a boomer shooter and is unforgiving, too.

Also, gen 3 QD-OLED is out shortly too which specs better burn-in protection with some new AI burn-in detection stuff.
