World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

I started getting emails from Dell about extending the warranty on the AW3423DW.

Anyone know if that extends burn in cover?

Okay, it appears I've missed the deal for the G85SD but the AW3423DWF is now available from Dell directly for £636. Is this a good price for the Alienware?

Depends on what the new AW3425DW comes in at and if you need the extra refresh rates offered, but that is likely to be over 800 GBP.

The extra refresh rate won't be needed at all, I mainly play newly released single player games and I'm normally getting less that 100FPS.

Is the new model likely to have a newer gen panel?

If you are on Windows 11 make sure to use the Windows HDR Calibration Tool from the Windows store. Makes a big difference to HDR.
I did, I'm going to factory reset my PC tonight however as I've changed display and graphics card now and I like to keep things fresh when I change hardware.

How bad is light mode on Windows for an OLED display? I'm trying to use dark mode but I just can't get used to it.

@Antony101 I use light and dark modes, just ensure that you activate your screensaver or put to sleep your display when you leave the screen unattended.

I use my monitor as normal, wallpaper, shortcuts on desktop. Only when browsing I use F11 (full screen view) so the address bar is hidden. I make sure the screen does not sit on a static image for too long.

My monitor is coming up to 2 years old now, still love it, and so far no burn in - fingers crossed it lasts! :)

I have it set to sleep after 5 minutes to be safe but normally turn it off manually if I'm leaving my desk. Good to know light mode shouldn't cause too big of an issue.

My PC is basically only used for YouTube and gaming so hopefully it'll have an easy life.

I do similar, however Windows being Windows, the sleep or screensaver functions don't always work - sometimes Windows thinks you are using it even though you aren't and it doesn't allow sleep. So what I've done is I set my windows background to black and hid the icons and whenever I get up from my desk I just alt+d so it displays the desktop. Its become a habit now, I even do it at work when I get up from my desk, just alt+d all the time

Okay, I forgot to post this. Did anyone have an issue with excess glue / sticky stuff after removing the protective foam on their AW3423DWF?

I've no idea how to get this off without damaging the display.

I've had a fair few panels from Dell, most recently the 2725DF, and never had that issue or seen it happen to anyone else.

Get some tape, put it on, firmly push it down, leave it for a few minutes then slowly peel, do it a few times.
