finally got to character screen after queuing twice behind 3800 people :/

Edit - but of course, I am stuck logging in to a toon........

Edit2 - got on my bank alt, logged out eventually, but it is a laaaaaggggg fest

Stuck in Gorgrond, got DC'd after constant 2-3 min lag spikes now just 90% load screen > Character not found > Char select screen, rinse repeat.
 
This is my first time playing and I'm frustrated so can't imagine what it's like for people who've been through every expansion launch. Yes they would lose money for accommodating the numbers for the 1st few days on launch but I'm sure it's nothing compared to their total profits...

Heard a few ppl moaning about Garissons, I've been playing since 18.30 only and had two dc's. That said, now I'm getting character not found. Ah well, I didn't intend to play properly until my month off anyway.

I've got screenies in the WoW folder with hundreds of people (including me) stuck on their wind rider floating above the flight points, sometimes relogging sorts it and sometimes it doesn't. That's if the logout button even works, most of the time I've had to alt+f4.

Even now I'm getting character not found for all 4 of my toons.
Chat has been filled with nothing but complaints and questions about what's going on.

I thought you may have been lucky, but now it seems that you're trying to downplay the issue for some reason. Things may well be going fine for you, but only a few people moaning about Garrisons? The servers almost exploded with the rage from everyone when I was able to even view it, let alone move my character.
 
Ummm I'm just stating my experience, why are you getting emotional about it? Very strange reaction, especially as I just said I can't log in. I didn't see much rage but then I play with grown up's.
 
quite nostalgic to be in a queue in wow, people always said they wanted vanilla wow back! this is as vanilla as it gets baby!
 
I can now see my characters, when I select one the game starts to load......

Then stops and tells me 'Character not found'

:(
