Well have also owned a R8500, R9700Pro, R9800Pro, and X1900XTX, only skipped the 2000/3000 series simply because nvidias offering were just better.
This time is a little different though, all the talk of reduced microstuttering and great scaling means I at least have to give crossfire a try.
Well no, if you request an RMA soon enough it's basically no questions asked and it's processed within a few days, you usually get a week to send it back after you start the RMA process, so the only expensive is postage really and a very short wait for your monies back so you can do the same again with another e-tailer.
That I didn't know .
Yes, crossfire and even single card terms ATI have strong products this time. No more AA performance drops like before but to be fair it was a brand new architecture that we all have to be thankful for as it drove ATI to sort out R600 with RV670 (3800 series), which led to the dramatic price drop which ATI have carried on with the 4800 series. These prices and performances have led Nvidia to seriously rethink in terms of pricing their GTX cards which is great for everyone no matter who (Nvidia or ATI) they prefer.
Edit:
Let us know what you think of the 4850's v the 280 you had should be pretty interesting.
lol - It was on my mind too .
How are you enjoying the Crossfire 4850s?. My friend has two 4870s and I know that is faster than the GTX 280 but how are you fairing the 4850s against the GTX 280 you had?.
