Worthabuy - Illness?

Sadly, that's not how mental health works. People who berate others aren't precluded from mental health issues. In fact, during my fifteen years working in health care, I can tell you for a fact that a significant proportion of people who are ill, project their negative emotions onto others due to their own personal mental instability. That obviously doesn't make it right, but then again the terms "right" and "wrong" when used in the context of a discussion about mental illness aren't always fitting. Just my opinion though, obviously. Perhaps he's making it all up for attention...

It's as I said, ironic he berates others for being sensitive due to mental fragilities whilst suffering his own

You reap what you sow

I remember Mack having a similar problem about one or two years ago. He was overworking himself, apparently. Seems similar this time. It's weird to see, among other things, all this mental illness speculation stuff flying about. Based on what, exactly?
Anyway, I hope he's back soon. I might not agree with a lot of his game assessments, but he's damn entertaining, and that's what counts for me.

I like Mack, he has a good heart. What I don't understand is how can someone that calls out snow-flakes constantly be so sensitive? Sometimes I feel he is the ultimate snow-flake when I see him fighting people that don't agree with him in the comments, twitter etc. and now this...

might be a tactical social media ploy over his slaughtering from farcry videos and such. wouldnt be surprised. take a break let people talk about you get loads of great feedback. hope its not that wouldnt be surprised though in this day and age. anything goes.

I've always enjoyed his channel and I don't really watch a lot of these reviewers because they're mostly on sponsored crack so Mack has always been a breath of fresh air. I don't always agree with his reviews (Witcher 3, Horizon Vertical Downs) but they're his sole opinions.

Been out of touch since the start of the year though so I've only just heard that he is unwell. I truly hope it isn't serious and that he gets back into his favourite hobby again (breaking bells).

I haven't seen his Far Cry New Dawn (whatever its called) review yet but I already know the game is utter tripe like FC5's DLC's so I doubt it'll surprise me if he goes off on one.

Quite the opposite, he thumbed it up, and then made a video responding to people who disagreed with him, telling them they are stupid. This mental illness talk has only been brought up since he got a load of backlash from that second video.

I could never stand the guy nor his review methods. If someone based their choice of game purchase from one of his reviews I'd heavily judge.

That aside, he's a content creator and an asset to the gaming community regardless of my personal opinion. If it's health related, I hope him all the best.

In his moans about not getting free press keys for games, if he is operating as a business then surely he can claim any expenses, like buying a game, back in his self assessment tax returns to the HMRC. That is assuming he declares anything.

I think he does this one-two video play on purpose, so he can bang out another "just over 10 minutes" video straight after the first one, done it several times I think. Though this time it appears to have backfired massively.

Most interesting. The speed at which that game rolled out after FC5 suggested to me a mish mash rehash utilising (well obviously) the same world with tweaks here and there using the map editor. As much as I enjoyed FC5, it was a massively flawed game that I realised no more than 1hr in and I'd rather read up on the events that took place in the New Dawn game. The FC5 world Ubisoft created with that engine though was superb, it is a shame the rest wasn't upto par.

I used to subscribe to WAB, but he became so predictable in the end - Had to unsubscribe, he become like nails to a chalk board for me.

Even still, I hope he is OK and recovers from whatever he is suffering with.

At the end of last year this YT broadcaster (2.8 million subs) went through some mental health issues....

....and whilst his demeanour and presentation style has always seemed "balanced" and most reasonable, in the videos that I had watched prior to the one noted above, it perhaps illustrates how much pressure that some of these people feel they are under running their channels. I had no idea that things were as bad as they seemed to be in the way he was no longer coping.
Mack seems to always court contention with his presentation style, including the bell, but lacks the ability to be able to deal with the consequences when people disagree with him.
I wish him well.

He absolutely can and probably does do that.

The problem is the time he then gets the keys, if you have a review out days after everyone else it's worthless and won't get anywhere near the views.

Mack is doing a video review of a game. He's putting down his opinion, based solely on his own experiences. That's all, and no different to a customer leaving their review of a purchase on OCUK, Amazon, etc etc etc......
Why does that mean Mack has to put up with people calling him a ******* **** and threatening to come kill his dog, or whatever?
It's his opinion. Why does it need arguing? Don't like it, click to the next video, no?

As long as he allows comments, he is going to get those sorts of comments (sadly that's just how it is), one thing he might consider when/if he returns to youtube is to get a moderator who can dispose of those comments so that he doesn't have to encounter them and be affected by them. I know a few people on youtube/twitch who do that to great effect.

Those negative comments could also affect his income from YT, as they could demonetize his account.

LMAO, Youtube comments.....who actually read them?
They are the most cancerous, toxic cesspit of foul swill you could imagine and anyone that puts any stock into anything thats written in there really needs to disconnect the internet.
