I have liked his videos and the fact he isn't tied to the publishers and therefore gives a more honest review. However now and again he does have the tendency to veer away from type - e.g. the New Dawn review which has literally all the things in it that he has raged against in past reviews. When that happens and he gets called out for it - he cant seem to take it which is weird given his own aggressive style. He really cant have it both ways. A hard man reviewer with very strong opinions who wants everyone to be nice to him and never disagree..

Mack is about the only reviewer I follow, I personally enjoy his OTT, bell spammed, cynical take on things with zero influences from sponsors.
He doesn't get the millions of subscribers like the mainstream creators do so I respect him for that, infact I usually stop when videos become too popular/sponsored, cos I'm like that

Apparently he's caught Myxomatosis from having his hand up that rabbit all the time.
In all fairness, on a few occasions I've heard him say if you like this game or that game you're a moron/idiot. I think it was his Fallout 4 WAB that I first realised it and ever since I sort of noticed he likes to passive aggressively insult people who like games that he doesn't in some of his videos. He's also extremely derogatory towards anyone who uses a gamepad in any sort of game, to the point of being toxic. With that in mind, if someone calls him a nasty word in his comments can he really complain?
Even if he was a 100% legit good person people still have the right to say what they want to him, that's life. If you want any sort of internet career or to be a social media celebrity you have to have thick skin or it's going to break your mind eventually. You can't be a snow flake in a field where people are out to break you either in spite or for a laugh.

i can identify with all the time and effort that goes into twitch and youtubing often more than a working job. just not sure if hes genuine. probably is but hes been doing the **** off games for a long while now and getting popular from it. he got a lot of abuse recently because some games just dont warrant it either but its easy views and money to just rant and yell to get people watching. this would be a clever way to get sympathy back on his side. wash some of that away get some people who may not like him back on his side. may just be burnt out and caught up with him. i know how that can be 21 videos last week. people think you just put up a video in 5 minutes when it could take many hrs to just get the footage then editing it could take the same amount then tags links to sites and the rest is exuasting mentally. so he is probably just burnt out.
the thing with any social media like youtube or twitch to grow you have to be at it constantly. you cant have breaks. it can be relentless. if he is ill hope he gets better.

A sob story always gets more ppl on board, it's an easy way to get more sympathy votes. Just look at xfactor or pop idol or any talent show, a sob story sells. All BS.
This wouldn't have happened if his last few videos had no drama.

So has he a history of pulling this kinda stunt every time he hits a bump in the road? Comes across as a right tool more times than not, calls out everyone then when he can’t handle it, he then turns into one of those snow *£@!% types he so often abuses in his rants.
What I dont understand is how can you just "scrape by" while having $3500 in patreon money plus youtube/twitch money, id say hes getting at least £4000 a month. Thats a healthy salary for making 2-3 videos a week from the comfort of his bedroom.
Seems like a big ol sob story to me, lots of youtubers do this nowadays and people fall for it in droves.

Had to laugh at blaming publishers for not sending him press keys, entitled much.
Given the number of views his videos are getting and a rough guess at what tier YT have him in he is easily over $2K/m from that alone though obviously as income goes that is very subject to fluctuation or even stopping entirely.

i his most recent vid he said he is just exhausted and needs a break. he downplayed the messages he has got and said he disabled chat just to cool down a bit.
as for his earnings, it is not for me to comment on, what he does is his job and if he is doing 70hr+ weeks i guess exhaustion is inevitable regardless of what he earns from it.
as for coming accross a tool...... Look, much like Jim Sterling, I disagree as often as I agree with him, but it is just his "hook". I will be honest he does grate on me sometimes as well, I much prefer a Larry Bundy "Fact hunt" kind of persona BUT being a bit ranty on a video should not give people a green light for death threats and ridiculing health issues - AFAIK Mack has never ever come close to doing that against anyone and comparing a rant to some of the crap he was getting is disingenuous imo.
well just checked his actual figures as so many get this wrong about youtube and twitch and earnings. his actual views for last month is 1,156,440 so in real money thats about £650 . so peanuts.
