WOW's addictiveness.....................

That ad is insane :p

I admit I spend a fair bit of time on WOW, though the idea of playing every night of the week would drive me mad! I suppose I'm what Blizz would class as a casual player - I've have a lvl 60 'lock, lvl 46 rogue, lvl 21 warrior, lvl 17 paladin and a lvl 10 priest. The 'lock has some tier1 and a bog standard mount as I can't be bothered with the grinding for the quest, and this account is about 9 months old :o

I have been getting a bit involved on the PVP side since the cross-realm battlegrounds opened up, and that really does look like a potential time sink for anyone crazy enough to reach the highest rank.

Being in a guild is good (though you soon realise the danes are a bit odd), but I'd sooner circumcise myself with a rusty can opener than meet the criteria for the Death and Taxes guild!

DnT's strict policies ensure that they get to see content like this months before the rest of us have a chance to catch up. They're currently on the last boss in the relatively new instance, Naxxramas.

But yes, you really have to have no life if you want to join a guild like that.

Having heard about Naxxramus, I almost feel that Blizz has pitched the difficulty too high with some of these bosses, they're going to take months to discover exactly how to beat, and then implement the strat, meaning lots of players are never going to see them...

Most people are moaning that they are too easy! The four horsemen seemed to be the toughest test for the hardcore guilds, Sapphiron seemed to go down like a sack of **** and Kel'Thuzzard was taken down to 1%, twice, last night by Nihilum before it bugged/despawned. Those hardcore guilds practically downed the 3 toughest bosses in the game within a week. Im hoping that the speculation of Kel'Thuzzard having a 2nd phase at 1% is true otherwise it will seem a bit of a dissapointment.

a dissapointment.

I disagree, the "hardcore pwnage" guilds arent the only ones playing. They will see it first, because they spend a ridiculous amount of time daily on it. The average raiding guild will take months, not a dissapointing time frame I think.

I see your point, but I still think its dissapointing that the final boss of the last level 60 raid instance can be sussed out strategy wise, and taken down to 1% within a couple of days, even if these hardcore guilds are using every buff in the game / are super equipped. Unless at 1% something else happens... :D

LOL!

Thats a coincidence and a half! Small world.

You have no idea how much I miss that damn game and the guild, im getting withdrawl symptoms but I needed to get out, the game was taking over my real life, I became seriously addicted, Wiped raiding 7 days a week back then didnt help either, and after becoming officer and whatnot, it became too much. Somebody offered £320 for my account and I couldnt turn it down really, had to be done.

I really want to get back into it! I still speak to Khelder and Wantsome frequently, they slowly convincing me to start another account! :p

Wow for me was my second MMORPG ( if you can call Planetside a MMORPG). I found wow terrible addicting.. and it really did for a point in time destroy my social life... the problem was wow is at 60 there is really nothing for the 'casual' gamer, so you spend the majority of your time online raiding with your guild... Ive managed to quit but it was hard! :(

Saying that, I might go back to it when BC comes out in Nov.

hehe, I can understand your reluctance, it really can drag you in!
£320, crikey :O

Nowadays wiped raids only a few days per week, not quite so taxing :) But of the old priest crowd theres few of us left :( The new guys are all ok, but not nearly so chatty :D

Was quite a surprise when yassia logged in and said "Bye!!" then gquit and logged, much drama ensued :p

Wait for BC, then come back :-)
Blood elf paladins, pffffft, what next!

I don't play WoW, however have known many of people tha have started playing WoW since it was released.

From what i have seen the trend seems to be this.

1. They start playing.

2. They start talking about it all the time when i see them or talk to them.

3. They start telling me to get the game so i can help them and play with them as i'm moaning about the amount of time they are spending on the game and nthing else.

4. Then when i confront them about their addiction to the game, they get all defensive and come up with stupid reasons why they carry on playing, then just scream "ZOMG JUST BUY THE GAME AND YOU WILL LOVE IT, SO STOP MOANING AND BEING AN IDIOT ABOUT IT." At this point i have to just walk away, as i don't want to be dragged into an addiction.

Yes the way I left was fairly lame (it wasnt me who /gquit though), but I didnt want to lose out on the money or let anyone try and convince me otherwise, I would have been easily convinced to stay probably considering how addicted I was. Although I probably left some bad blood behind it was for the best really. As far as i know, all my characters have been transfereed to another realm now by the new guy anyway, hope he didnt cause too many problems! Glad to hear you all progressing well also.

im addicted again

i reached rank 13 on my mage and got full tier 2 gear too, made a 60 lock and shadow priest to keep me keen. Got bored and quit but now my mate has formed a new guild and asked me to help out, we are up to the twin emps at the moment which isnt bad considering the guild is 3 months old :)

I killed most of Naxx and cleared all of AQ40 so im looking forward to BC exp pack :) oh and currently im unbeaten in BG5 groups, my bg premade has beaten every single premade from bg5 including one group with full 2.5 and r14's

fun fun

It all seemed a little pointless and dull to me but it does have a certain charm that i just cannot explain. I kept on playing it but i didn't really know why!

All the people saying this, how their friends turned anti-social and ruined their lives....

You just had rubbish friends ;) Go get new ones! \o/

Nope :) And the new guy was polite, if brief :p
He did indeed disappear, so I assume transfers.
