Did you miss the last 2 pages where I've been asking Glaucus how to solve some of the issues I've got? Christ even asking for help is now banned!
 
I like Android, I've an N7, but I like the security of Windows Phone. You can't have free reign to do whatever you like, whilst having the security of Windows Phone.
 
My current main annoyances on WP are that IE really isn't a great browser. The back key swipe helps a bit.

The music shortcut buttons change between the power button and the volume key depending on the lock time. Which is daft as a brush.

Countdown timers don't work, due to the priority they don't get in multi-tasking.

Anyone else have problems with the files application. When I move more than a handlful of files (photos) it crashes out. A lot of the time it can't build thumbnails. It does a few then just stops.

This is a very valid point. The specs of the 620 couldn't hope to run Android (especially with any bloatware) anywhere near as well as it runs WP.
 
The font on the new 8.1 Glance screen is all pixelated and nasty, as if its trying to display a resolution above the screens native rez? Any way to either go back to the old Glance screen or change its font?

It's not related to the new glance screen update but I have seen a rough looking glance screen before. Similar to what you are describing with a jagged font but everything that was in glance was also inside a portion of the screen that looked odd, wish I could describe it better. It just looked like a sickly looking rectangle with a rough looking digital clock inside. Double tap to wake and the screen was fine and it wasn't always there, just sometimes.

About 2 or 3 weeks later, half my screen (vertical lines) went permanently multi-coloured, I had it changed under warranty, this was my 925. Don't know if that is your issue, hope not.
 
Hmm. If it is then it's fluke that it's occurred at the same point I upgraded to 8.1. It was fine before, I updated, checked the Glance options, was asked to restart and then got the jagged font.

I've asked work if they have any alternative phones I can use, and the only option is another Windows Phone (grrrrr). It's a HTC 8S. Did that model get the 8.1 update yet? There are hardware related issues with my 620 (like it's regular inability to make phone calls... which is rather inconvenient :p) which mean that even though it's WP I might take the 8S. But not if it doesn't have 8.1.
 
I don't have the issue Skeeter described.

What version are you on, have you had the latest glance screen update and what options have you chosen for Glance screen? These factors might help.
 
8.1 and the latest Glance screen (Cyan?). I've tried switching on and off all the options for Glance and they all show in that jagged font.
 
what are the any cheap and chearful windows phones I can buy as a backup? My 1520 is going in for repair and I want a phone to cover it and also for using with foreign sims while travelling in places not covered by vodafone passport. Just something for the basics, browsing, mail, phone. Thanks
