X-Factor 2011

The end singer on Australian X-Factor 301 actually had me crying.
He was a 17 year old Iraqi who had been found in a box with blown off legs, one blown off arm and the other arm in a real mess.
An Australian woman had taken him and another lad back to Australia for operations when they were about 4 but ended up adopting them.
His song was Imagine by John Lennon with very poignant lyrics and he sang it brilliantly.
The Aussies do sad so much better.

This dude ? -

I'm deffo going to be watching this (on youtube), just for Kelly Rowland + Gary Barlow ....

Louis Walsh I still hate so much, I wanted him gone from the show years ago. And that other girl ..... what, wait, who the **** is she???

At least there seems to be two decent judges at the least for once, and not a panel of clueless tards as it always used to be.

She sang all of the impressive notes of the original in much safer keys, she was good, but not amazing like the judges were scripted to respond as she was.

The overblown theatrics do nothing but undermine her performance.

Ps. do these people bawl every time they actually hear Adele's infinitely superior version?

This x100000

On 304 at the end a bloke came on and sang an INXS song with real grovel and it ended up being a woman

Looking at that you tube clip and reading this story really would move a lot of people. No wonder people had tears in their eyes on that clip.

About an hour ago I had my eldest daughter watching it and told her she couldn't cry, she did.

You'll probably see this in the title but I had a few people trying to guess what the sad story was with this contestant and nobody got it.
Don't go to YouTube and watch directly from here.
In fact go to 3.10 and try and guess from there.

Whereas in the UK - OMG my auntie ..... *CRY CRY CRY, WHINE WHINE WHINE, OMG I LOVE MY AUNTIE, SHE LOOKED AFTER ME MY WHOLE LIFE ....'

OH FFS STFU!!!!!

The tears have now started.
Guys, can somebody explain why people cry when they are hearing another person sing...I'm struggling to understand this.

Perhaps I never received the crying gene.

I seem to lack the crying gene also - I don't get it either?

Most of these people will crumble - they excel at one song that they have practiced over and over, but I doubt they can sing much else.

We have another crybaby on stage. She is being put through, yet she is crying.

Cry if they get a 'no'.
Cry if they get a 'yes'.

Could it be that mentally/emotionally these people are weak?
Not only that but their family also cry with them. I mean, are they being paid to cry or something?

I've even seen grown men crying during the audition process, which is just cringe-worthy.

If these people are crying during an audition process (which is essentially a job interview), then these guys have little or no hope in life - as life has far more challenging trials than a poxy singing audition.

I'm completely baffled.

This x-factor thing is a scripted comedy drama right?

Of course.
Ask yourself why out of the 1000s & 1000s queuing outside they are always interviewing the main contestants.
The Producers line them all up to appear at certain times and of course it can all be edited so we have the same format every week which works.
And of course we'll never see a really crap one right at the end of the show.

And the crying thing:
On July 4th I was gigging to 3000 people at an open air festival and when looking out at the audience I actually had tears rolling down my cheeks.
I turned to the bass player and said 'Look at all these kids, they are all here for the death bands but they're singing to every one of our songs".
Sometimes it can be quite emotional.

Yey lets clap his crazy mother that put him in care yey.

LOL.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Surely the person who should be clapped is the foster mother/father who ACTUALLY brought him up?

From what the contestant said, the biological mother knows little about her son. Her son obviously loves singing yet the biological mother has never heard him sing. That says it all.

And sunama must have a heart of stone. I'm not in tears but can understand why when this stuff means a lot to them.

There are people out there who spend 3 years studying for a degree.
Sometimes they don't get the grade they hoped for.
I can understand if they cry (after all, they've spent 3 years).

However, to come on to a talent show, get a 'yes' and then have a gall to cry...for me that's not right.

If memory serves me correct, last year's winner didn't cry at all during the audition stages. I think he might've cried in the final.

The year before, Joe McElderry definitely didn't cry.

The winners dont seem to cry too much, but the lesser singers do. Could it be that the lesser singers have low confidence, so that when they get the 'yes', they cry, as they feel that their ability is finally being recognised?

Grown men crying over an audition ... that just doesn't sit right with me.
