Im so getting one im saving up for the x1900xtx (im not sure if thats right) which is the top one out of the series. Any idea how much it will be as i dont really wanna pay more than £450. Also is there specs at all on the x1900 series. And is the 24th jan when we will be able to buy it off overclockers or when we cam preorder one.

Anyway is anyone getting these cards and which one :)

If it's launched on time as rumoured i might be tempted since it seems like a vast improvement, but if it's a paper launch I'll probably see what G71 performs like first.

I think £400 will be about right.

I'll probably change card sometime between Easter and the summer. Hopefully by then both the next generation cards will be out in good quantities.

The X1900s are rumoured to be replacing the X1800 series, so expect them to be roughly around the same price eventually. I would expect them to be marked up at launch as with anything thats new.

Specs wise, the XTX is supposed to be 650/1550 and the XT, 625/1450. I'm a little disappionted with the clockspped and expected the XT to be clocked nearer the XTX and the XTX having 700/1600 clocks or similar.

Supposedly, both are 16 true pipelines, with 16 TMUs and 16 ROPS. 48 pixel shader pipes and 8 vertex shaders.

I'm gonna get one but probably not the fastest one.

I always skip the very next generation of cards, that way I see more of an improvement.

Been pretty happy with my card choices so far, nvida 4200 -> ati 9800pro -> nvidia 6800GT.

Not just about gaming for me so really looking forward to the AVIVO stuff. If what they say about the video encoding performance is true then that will be great too. Hope they bring out an AIW version soon too.

I'd expect the next gen from both nvidia and ati to be £500+, I'm looking forward to seeing official specs though, its gonna be an incredible card :)

Not actually sure about this one, the clock speeds of R520 were ramped higher than expected to around 700mhz core, which is close to what 'is rumoured' to be the next core speed of R580 but with more shaders which ok I guess in theory is better but how much better will it be?

Very interested in where they will be going with this, hopefully they will stick some of that nice DDR3 that nVidia have been using for the GTX 512 cards :)

Probably best to wait and see the benchmarks eh? :)
Should be a good card and im primed to buy a card very soon... but will be waiting for performance figures :)

Exactly what I was thinkin mate, definately can't wait to see the performance, should imagine its a bit better than R520 but i'm unsure if we are going to see the kind of performance jump of say the 9800Pro to the X800 series, hope I am wrong though. Also very interested in G71, good stuff being thrown at us at the moment with graphics cards, its great :D

By the sounds of the rumours that are going about, ATi won't be using those modules in the first batch. It seems they will be using the 1.26ns memory that is coupled with the X1800XT. I guess this will keep price down and availbility high which is good.

Bought my x1800xl two weeks ago and it hasn't arrived yet :( so i shall not get this one since i am confident my new card shall be quite good :D
I might consider R580 if its very very good or wait for the R600.

Thats something that I also saw floating around on the net, but tbh until the 24th of Jan everything will be just rumours, although the speculation as to the final product will be close to what the card actually is :)

A good thing is though, if you buy this generations x1k series, once they start to struggle in games (which i can't see happening for a while) then you can just Crossfire it up with another one, and it will be cheaper than the R580 (another x1k card, assuming you already have a Crossfire mobo). :)

I very much doubt that i will get one . I am a bit peeved with ATI bringing out a new and better GFX after the x1800xt has had such a short life.

Loadsamoney yes you can Xfire with a x1800xt xfire card ,but will ati carry on the production of them when the x1900 hits the deck , or will we need a x1900 xfire card

This card has got to last  till next year or SWMBO aint gonna like it

I think the main factor at present is the x1800 run all my stuff fine no problems ( with the amd x2 4800 and asus m/b ) I for one am waiting to see what vista brings to the table

I think ill stick to 1 card options im not going to go sli/crossfire untill the m2 boards are out with ddr2 and sli/crossfire option on them.
I still think 1 card can cope with any game really well at low resolutions like mine at 1280x1024. I wonder when a game will come out when you must have sli/crossfire as standard to play it.
