x1900 series whos getting one.

Well I think I will get a new GFX card once both are out and I can see which one is best.

I will bet my money on the G71 as I done think ATi can beat NVIDIA's size or money power but ATi did mange to scare NVIDIA and get them to make a lot better product's and for that I will always love ATi but for speed for now I think NVIDIA are going to win.

How does everyone install there new graphics cards then as im not sure if i do it the right way or not. But i think i must do it right as ive had no problems before this is how i do it it:

1.download latest catalyst drivers with ccc
2.use driver cleaner and check the control panel in add and remove software
3.Put new card into slot
4.Turn computer on and into safe mode
5.install new driver that i downloaded
6.restart pc and now its ready!!

Does that sound alright or am i missing something, would there be any special drivers i would need to install with the cd that usually comes with the card.

Edit: does the 5.13 the latest drivers support the x1900 cards or will i have to use the drivers that come with the graphics card.

Yeah you don't need to go into safe-mode, just let windows boot, and it will come up with the "found new hardware" bits, just cancel those, and when finished loading install your new drivers.

Its nearly tuesday now i would have thought they would have them up on overclockers by now so we can preorder them.

Yep, gotta agree with that ...had mine over a week now and I've not regretted it for a second, which is unusual ...it is a top notch card, and is actually faster than I was expecting compared to my 6800GT in many respects.

any real difference between powercolor and sapphire with the x1800xt's?

i really should wait til tuesday though...
